****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II Thread***

Mine has arrived from vodafone , order placed yesterday not bad only thing missing is the pirates of the Caribbean box set will have to call customer service.

Khaaan i checked out that case of yours that i liked....and found that it does not offer any protection to the top or bottom.
Don't get me wrong I still think the case a great case but i need more protection.
Now i don't like purse cases or wallet cases.
Case mate seems to look ok has anyone found any other others so far?

Also need a good screen protector i have ordered a cheapy for the moment got my eyes on a Martin Dawes version but they are out of stock has anyone found a very good one that most people are using?

Ok had a quick play with mine on Saturday found the battery to be insane for a big screen phone.
Liked the HTC way of doing things much better but after using the G2 for a while it kinder grew on me and now I like it.:D
The HTC had a very crisp high treble that used to hurt my ear drums if someone spoke too loud - the G2 sounds perfect in my ear no more pain in my ear drums.

The HTC (Desire) had no bass and no equalizer, mostly very high crisp treble sound and the loud speaker was not loud at all- the G2 comes with an equaliser and the loud speaker is what it says loud!!

Another thing that the HTC did that i found a tad odd was that the phone numbers in the details section were very tiny - with the G2 I can see them very clearly.

One thing I need is a good weather app - free of course:D the HTC version is a lot better than the G2 version that cant even find my location in bucks !!!!
I have had a look in the market place but i would like some recommendations please and it must be able to see ALL countries in the world and be able to forecast a few days into the week as the G2 is unable to do either:confused:.

One last note the clock is unable to find other countries that my HTC used to find with ease could someone recommend me a free app for this as well and yes I have been to the market place but user experience is vital to me.

i have heard people saying that when the battery is charged it sends out an alarm mines does not do that so im happy.

Oh and i like that fact that in the alarm function you can choose the sound of a ****, so without sounding a bit strange , i have a **** waking me up in the morining - oh er misses:p

Anyone got any idea how to do this?
On my HTC was able to place a toggle for flight mode, a toggle for wi-fi, a toggle for bluetooth, vibrate toggle and a toggle for internet mobile.
With the SGS2 using beautiful widgets i can do all the above except get the mobile internet to toggle to work? is there a way to get a mobile internet toggle to work?

Echoing Jimlad, you soon get used to it. To the point where holding a smaller phone feels like picking up a kids toy.

lol this is so true

Not a happy bunny!! Accidently put my phone in same pocket as my car keys (drunk of course) now i have a nice fine 1 inch scratch going across the screen!!! I was going to get a screen protector but few people on here said not to bother as it has this bulldog screen which you cant scratch? Wish i did now!!

Also when tilting the phone to text in landscape mode it isnt working now. I have checked motion settings, and all the options in messaging and cant find anything to enable/disable. Even turned the phone on off etc etc. Any ideas guys??

Even ear rings can scratch your screen so yes its worth having.

New Galaxy S II arrived from Vodafone - no Pirates of the Caribbean pack though

Ring them back they tried that with mesaying that they know nothing about the offer and saying that it was an online deal only what a load of rubbish.
I told the gimp that it is on the web site he said he cannot see it:confused:
his manager said he knew nothing of the offer:confused:
It is on the web site no sign of "online offer only" if you walk into a VF shop its in their mag and plastered all over the wall. I got the guy to give me a £30 credit:D

Well, after last night's "out of stock" email, Vodafone emailed me this morning (I only just read it) saying that my handset was in the warehouse and would be dispatched soon. The next question is, is that the truth, or just their way of responding to my rather arsey email? :D

It could go both ways as no one in VF knows what each other is doing.
