****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II Thread***

I've got to admit that I love MIUI, I think it's a fantastic ROM and completely original. I did have that + Apex Launcher, winning combination imo, there was just a few things that I didn't like about it, one of them was the image quality of the stock camera app, hopefully they've sort that by now! Every so often I'll go back to it, to give it a try, but it's a shame as I end up loosing all my sms, which is annoying!

I think I said to you already, but V4 is based on Samsung firmware and uses the Touchwiz camera. Quality should be the same now :)

Also, SMS Backup & Restore ;)

Go into the email app > settings (press menu) > account > choose ringtone > silent.

Thank you so much. So simple. I'd been into settings and clicked on General preference, found nothing, but didn't think to click on my email address below that in 'added accounts'. Sweet. :)

After posting that I went onto the playstore and found that. Now transferred back to miui as was having a problem with hydra where after I unlocked the phone from boot it went back to the boot logo and I had to wait for it to effectively start up again.

I did that but as mentioned, that bug with the double booting was pretty annoying. Other than that yeah it was pretty good. As for bugs with miui v4, i have a small bug with when the phone connects to my cars Bluetooth, it comes up with an error but then connects anyway. Dont have this with any other rom. That's bout it really, other than that, rather stable and quick. Everything works, themes are great too.

Edit: Scratch that, had a problem with the Email app not opening emails and just FC so gone back to Hydra, straight away had the dual boot issue, but I suppose I shouldn't need to restart it that often so I'll just have to deal with that.

I do miss Hydro. I hope they work on a build for the S3 but also include the new S3 features otherwise I'll be sad panda!

I'm also wondering if it's worth flashing back a stock ROM before sending off to o2 for the recycling scheme. I never unflashed CM7 from my Desire when I sent that to Mazuma Mobile and they paid me without asking questions.

does anyone know a good pair of earphones for the s2 which as a button to skip tracks that works with poweramp? need to be able to use the button with motorcycle gloves on

thanks

Flashed mine back, dont want them sending it back and having to take a lower quote and extra hassle

What a dufus. I'm actually glad that the S3 has a lot of tweaks already out the box available to the user. Just flash an ICS theme after rooting and that's it. I can't be bothered sifting through pages and pages of arguments and accusations on XDA which seems to be more and more common these days :/

Unless the custom ROM is by someone known :p

...Intratech? :D

Hydrogenics are done for. No more development for it 13/5 is the last build.
Some drama between paradoxx and netchip which I can't be arsed to look into.

13/5 works fine for me though but any other equally or better roms available that are recommended?

Para took all the donation money & bought a PC with it. No money went to netchip blah blah blah blah blah.

One of the reasons I've never liked Hydrogenics is because of these 2 muppets :p

how does the performance compare after using modded roms/kernels?

Seems exactly the same to me, just more bloat apps. I'm on holiday at the moment and I've been using the camera constantly. It kept freezing on hydrogenics but the stock touchwiz camera has been great.
