****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II Thread***

Yeah lasts a full day easily now, I can usually get 3 days depending on usage, I'm not a totally heavy user though! :)

To me it makes the phone feel 10x better too. It is how it should have been released imo.

Even though it's about a mil thicker, it does make quite a difference to how it feels. Think I preferred it slimmer.

Not a biggie though - camera protection and more stamina should make up for it.

My S2 has developed a minor (but annoying) trait since I updated to ICS!!!

I use Go Launcher and have my "centre" screen set as my homescreen (ie. the one it flips to when you press the home button) but annoyingly, whenever I turn my phone on in the morning, it defaults to my far right screen!?!?!

I've tried resetting the "home" screen within the launcher but no matter what I do, on a first boot it always starts on the far right and it's really bugging me!!

Has anyone had a similar issue?

Just a note guys my S2 has been reborn over night!!

All beacuse of a dirty USB port.
Only yesterday did i start getting the phone going into driving mode all on its own and a quick google found this

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1174291&page=6

I cleaned the port out as it says and all is now well, lost 2% battery overnight, recently ive not been able to get any more that about 18 hrs life from it, had problems connceting via usb etc

There was nothing in the battery stats or better battery stats to point to this kind of issue

Since I'll be on the S2 for up to another month I thought I'd flash an update to my current ROM (Wanamlite LP9) so have just downloaded the LPF build.

Meh, I have nothing else to do until the S3 arrives!

what's the latest Official UK Version of Samsung's ICS ROM for the S2 - is it LP7?

Also has anyone noticed the slight stuttering when scrolling through lists like contacts, messages and market that wasn't there in Gingerbread?

Wondering if Samsung will fix this stuttering.

got this case today..

its a hard case out of 2 parts basically you slide the top on the phone and then top attaches to bottom part with little clips that are hidden

its 7.99 and has that "soft/quality" feel to it + one free bottom part of any color..

the one in pictures is gray with gray.. here's an ebay link if anyone is interested

http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/maximexpress/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=25&_trksid=p3692

dont think he has any grey ones in stock anymore..

Same position. Time to try out a hanful of roms tonight :p

I'm going to be recycling my S2 soon and since I'm currently on hydrogen ICS I thought I'd put a stock firmware back on before sending it off
Do I need to do anything prior to firing up odin and flashing the UK firmware I've downloaded from sammobile?
Will flashing a stock firmware remove root and if so will I have a yellow triangle on boot up? I removed it using triangle away so currently there isn't one there.
Sorry for the dopey questions and thanks for any help!

My browsers keep redirecting to a 3 page which tells me that I'm tethering and I need to turn it off and restart my phone in order to go online again. This has happened since I first got my phone but had stopped when I put a custom rom on. I phoned 3 and they said that I'm tethering when it's not in my contract.

Anybody else had this and found a way around? No point in paying for unlimited data if you can't access the internet. I've never even tried tethering, don't understand what's going on... :(

If your browser user agent is set to Desktop/Firefox/IE etc then it could be seen as tethering by 3.

I'm sticking with Wanamlite I think, put 11.9 over 11.7 yesterday and no issues.

Still my one niggle though, can't send or receive attachments on text messages. :(

Such a small thing but so irritating when I get sent a contact card I can't read.

You on o2? I got it working. Delete all but 1 of the APNs but take a note of all the mms settings and put them into the main APN manually. Then you can send/receive MMS
If it all goes wrong you can just restore APNs and try again but I definitely got it working

On 3 now or id tell you which I used

Hey, I'm going on holiday next Monday and was trying to prepare my phone.

Is there some kind of way I can alter the CPU speed so it uses less power so the battery lasts longer?

It runs at 1.2ghz so is it possible to lower to say 700mhz? Since the majority of it's use will be for Winamp/listening to songs.

Also, is there any stable mod that can increase the battery life?

I don't want the extended battery though! thanks!

Seriously? Does airplane mode make that much of a difference?!

Also what's a decent Kernel that's out? Main feature would be increasing battery life, I currently have the standard ICS at the moment.

Yes it does, just try it with an old phone.

Of course it depends how much you use it, but being on holiday I'm thinking that's an accurate guess if you don't use your phone 3 -4 hrs a day ;)

Alright thanks for the tip, I never thought of that.

To be honest, I'm not going to use the phone that much but it's better to be safe than sorry!

I'll just try airplane mode instead of messing around with ROM's etc.

Thanks for the advice mate!
