****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II Thread***

Standby times are great on CM9, coming up to 12 hours and 92%. On 3G. With Wi-Fi on I get the Android OS bug, and it drains 30/40% overnight!

The SII really is a great smartphone - 13 months on and the 2012 flagships haven't really moved the game on much at all - not like there's much to improve on the S2.

Getting good battery life with the extended batt too - 4hrs screen on time with a fair bit of 3G use - 35% brightness.

Is it worth getting the extended battery for the SII with only 5 months left on my contract?

I always charge it every night but during heavy use the stock battery does fade rather quickly.

Edit: How much is it?

I love mine. I also sometimes carry the standard battery as a backup on a day out and then the phone lasts for 6 hours + screen time. The battery is easily carried without much notice and they hold there charge for a whole while!

Something strange going on with my phone today.

All day my recetion has been like 0 and then 100, but cant send txt or receive calles when at 100, restart it and it gives me 1 bar, before dissapearing again.....

Currently sitting at full bar, but still cant send txt message.

Usually reception in my area is good.

Im with 3.

Flash the NELP3 modem which 3 is optimised for (I believe), search the XDA forums.
It's got better speeds than NELP2, tho of course there is a tiny bit of battery compromise due to that.

Probably doing network upgrades, Had that last month for a day or 2 all back to normal after that.

Seem to get the same and been through so many roms, modems and kernels without a fix.

Back to stock now and its still pretty much the same

It never used to be, im wondering if somewhere along the line theres been a bug in a rom i flashed or something and i just cant clear it

Considering the SG3 just to be done with it
Its annoying as hell if you forget to turn Wi-Fi off and put the phone in you pocket

Better battery stats tells you nothing

Hi guys, ive been experiencing many problems with my S2 as of late;

The time freezes randomly, leads me to having to restart the phone or toggle automatic date and time to force it into fetching the right time, or failing that ive turned automatic time and date off but it still happens!

Also more importantly last night i lost the mobile network, i heard this is quite common.

Under about phone, my baseband is unknown, network is unknown, network type is unknown, service status is out of service, mobile network state is disconnected, phone number is unknown, IMEI is unknown, and IMEI SV is unknown.

Now this has happened before, and previously i just used HC-kTool to restore my EFS from my backup and restart, but now this doesnt work either!

So im quite lost as to what to do now!

Shall i just factory wipe it, and start over with a new rom and kernel? Would that fix these problems?

Its done it before, but now ive tried many things, restoring the efs etc and its not working.

I do have an efs backup, dating back to December 2011 but none of the efs restore aps seem to be doing anything, they used to work when it messed up previously.

As long as i have an efs backup, this should be fixable somehow right?

I just need to know how to manually fix it :(

Ive got these

Ok that's good, you'll be able to recover it fine hopefully.

This guide should help without me typing it out. It's just a few copying and pasting, which the app you used before would have done.

Of course, do it at your own risk, but it's safer to do this way instead of letting an app do it for you. Unless the app was written by some uber security dev :)

Cheers, ive got a problem though,

4) go to EFS folder using root explorer, and delete "nv_data.bin", "nv_data.bin.md5".

In my newly created EFS folder when i restarted the phone after deleting the old efs folder im just left with:
