***The Official Samsung Galaxy S III Thread***

Well im quite sure you understood what i ment,i didnt think i had to spell it out :)

There is lots of ways you are make the phone go quicker through Rooting though ;) So saying that would be just pointless

Overclocking,
Freezing Applications,
Higher HEAP Size,
Build Prop Edits,
Custom ROMs

As you know Rooting will allow you to tweak and change anything on the Phone

I just wondered what custom roms people might be using, theres getting quite a few on XDA now, waiting for one with voodoo sound and maybe some sence widgets baked in myself :)

Considerin rooting often has nothing to do with making the phone faster at all, and is used by many people purely for additional configuration and unlocking features/functionality, it wasn't 100% clear what you meant. :p

fair enough :D

Just rooted mine, nice and easy as usual with Samsung devices.

Link to which guide you followed please? I'm still in 2 minds whether to root my wifes s3, thought I'd wait until more people have done it and it normally gets easier and easier.

Just had a play with a blue model. Compared it side by side with the white and I don't really mind either. The blue is just as nice imo except the home button is a completely different shade, it is more purple, and this might bother some people but personally it doesn't bother me in the slightest.

Also anyone who pre-ordered the blue version before 27th (I think) through Phones 4U on a upgrade has a high chance or receiving one as quite a few have been sent out

fornowagain - what phone do you have now?
My daily is a grey HTC One X. I have a boxed white S3 with a few days left to send back. I've never ummed and ahhed so much over a phone colour in my life. Black no contest, 100% yes. But the blue...I kinda like the plastics. But that light blue trim and purple home button just looks wrong to me. God I'm so shallow, I'm sure there are far more important things I'm supposed to be thinking about.

Yeah - not sold on either white or blue...hopefully the black is out by Sep.

Have you played with your S3? - how does it compare, in your opinion, to the HOX?

Not sure if you can see the home button is a different shade on the blue version, I've cut the pics down in size a fair bit. Overall though, both are quite nice but I'm sure the early adopters of the white will convince themselves the whites nicer and the ones who waited so long for the blue will convince themselves it was worth the wait. :p

Is there any conformation of a black, or is that just wishful think on our part?

Yeah had a good fiddle. Got till the 13th to decide, then the HOX will be confiscated by she who must be obeyed (old Desire's contract up).

I don't think there's that much in it, not if you're just using it as opposed to a power user. I think the HOX screen is a little better for reading, not as punchy but clearer with small text. Not that much in the camera area, sound recording seems better on the HOX. Movies are smoother on the S3.

Touchwiz is definitely more refined than Sense, which surprised me. S3 is smoother. The multitasking, lots of open tabs in the browser etc. Could both be better. Too early to judge, a couple of firmware revisions needed before I'd draw a conclusion.

I guess the HOX looks better, the screen design and one piece chassis is nice. But the S3 build, though plastic, feels pretty damn good imo. It's really solid, no flexing. I'd also say the S3 is nicer to hold, more comfortable to use and I like having and an actual home button.
