***The Official Samsung Galaxy S III Thread***

Ah I'm using the standard app. Thats not an impressive start the Gmail app seems a lot nicer but I don't use the Gmail one...

Who do you use for your email?

I just tell Gmail to pull all my mail from my other accounts and assign labels to it. Can just manage everything through Gmail then :)

You can either do this

Or forward e-mail individually from your other providers settings.

I do a mixture of both with filters and it works flawlessly. Filters are easy to set up, just go through the wizard :)

What Locke posted ^^

I just tell it to import mail from a couple Hotmail accounts. Only downside is that it's not push, but I think it checks every 15 minutes or so.

My S3 has started to freeze a lot lately. Have to restart it by holding down the power button. Everything up to date and all, running stock also. Gonna drop into where I bought it and see if I can get it replaced. Pain in the hoop.

S3 slow and sluggish. Click on anything, it thinks(freezes) for a couple of seconds then a black screen and finally displays screen. Got it stock from Tmobile but recently updated via Kies to JB 4.1.2.
It's not rooted and just basic apps, haven't installed anything after update. Only thing different from before is I encrypted the drive and sdcard (connected to work email and security profile required this).

Base version: I9300BVELK1
Kernel version: 3.0.31-742798
build: JZ054K.19300XXELLA

Have tried Animation scales set to .5X. but no change.

Any ideas? Also if i do a reset will it go back to ICS or JB?

Same for mine too, I can usually tell when I have a text message incoming because the device slows down briefly. :p
Although I am rooted with a custom rom.

After updating the firmware, did either of you do a factory reset?

Although it's not required, I think it's essential. Especially if going from ICS to JB.

And clankk, if your firmware is JB, a factory reset will keep it on JB :)

I was just upgrading versions of sotmax I think it was 12 or 13 to 14.

I have cleared everything. I have disabled screen rotation, and its not froze since. (well for a couple of days).

How do you make the weather app update on the home screen automatically?

The other thing I've noticed is that on the Internet when you double click to zoom in on text it doesn't do it properly like ios and just zooms in??

Check the Accuweather app. I guess since you recently got the S3 that you're still using the weather widget :) There might be a setting in there for update frequency, although I've never used it myself.

As for the browser thing, you need to turn on text reflow. Again I don't actually know if the Touchwiz browser has this as I've rarely used it :o

You can try Chrome if you want, but that doesn't have text reflow either. I know Dolphin and Opera have it. To be honest I don't really see the need for it, the screen and res is big enough to display most pages fine :)
