So what sort of SOT are most of you getting? I'm looking at getting either a s20 or s20+.
I posted a comment on page 44 about my thoughts between my 7T Pro and the S20 range. Admittedly all based on a 15 minute splurge in Currys but useful nonetheless I feel. The short version of my post was the only S20 worth changing from a 7 Pro (or 7T Pro) is the Ultra. The other two are not upgrades as far as I'm concerned. And that is purely on spec for spec. When you take the cost into consideration none of them are a sensible upgrade from the OnePlus.Anyone got an S20 series who has also used a OnePlus 7 series phone? I just read a partial review on Anandtech describing the S20 Ultra as the most fluid phone ever and by a country mile. I am doubtful but would be very interested to hear anyone's thoughts on S20 vs OP 7 series in terms of fluidity.
Was passing a Curry's so got a quick play with the S20 range and I was a little underwhelmed truth be told. The one takeaway was the 120hz is absolutely superb no doubt about it. But I have to say beyond that there isn't much more that would make me buy any of them. I'll caveat the rest by stating I currently own a 7T Pro and maybe it's self conscious bias but I don't think any of them would make me change. If I had to change it would be the Ultra for sure. The Plus has a smaller screen than the 7T Pro not to mention a hideous centre hole punch like a boil and the regular S20 is just too small full stop. For sure a 7T Pro represents much better value for money than either of those. By the way I know the Plus is 6.7 inch and the 7TP is 6.67 but with the aspect ratio and the hole punch the real estate on the Plus IS less. With the ultra the screen is only marginally bigger, and by bigger I mean taller, it's basically the same width and only a few mm taller but once again you're battling against the hole punch.
I appreciate how Samsung have altered the curves, it's the one thing about the current crop of phones I don't particularly enjoy, 7TP included. However, the light reflections and vignetting you get at off angles is still very much present, if anything more so since the curves are sharper.
That's my 2 cents worth!

I have always liked the Samsung devices as well, with a few exceptions. I had every S line device up to and including the S7 (edge) however that's where my love affair ended. The S7 was returned after a week. By that stage I felt Samsung's innovation had stagnated and I reverted to my S6 Edge Plus until the OG Pixel came out. I eventually returned to Samsung with the S10e and it was a great little phone. I only changed to the 7T Pro as I missed a larger screen. Their software since OneUI was released has been excellent and I enjoyed using however it's just not worth the premium. In all honesty if I was going to spend near £1000 on a phone I'd buy an iPhone. No Android phone is worth that IMO.Cheers - I remember reading thatFor me, the phone I would want is the plain old S20 rather than the Ultra. If I decided my next phone was to be smaller in size, the S20 is the only flagship that offers 120hz in such a small form - it's basically the iPhone 11 Pro in size but with 120hz.
If I was getting another large screen phone, I'd wait for a OP, since they are not going to release a smaller sized phone. The thing is, I like Samsung devices and I really like the software. I just can't get past the juddering, hence my disbelief at Anandtech's comment on the fluidity (which is not the same as screen refresh).

Oh yes I forgot about the S5! Thinking back that was an awful awful phoneI had every model except the S5. The S7 edge is what reignited my love affair with Samsung. it was the VR shizz.
So im wanting a S20+, and i have seen Quidco are doing £120 cashback through carphone warehouse and CPW are also offer £180 trade plus another £100 if you trade for an S20 range phone. Will they let you stack up?
As by my reckoning i can get one for £600 once everyone has paid me back
Hey guys does anyone know how to turn the brightness up of the always on display i have noticed it is a lot dimmer on my ultra than it is on my note 9 ?
If it's like my A70 you tap once on the picture or time and a slider comes up.
