*** The Official Samsung Galaxy S6/Edge Thread ***

I guess the use of a 14mm SoC, not increasing the screen size, AMOLED's battery performance and optimisation should result in decent screen on time. Still, no removable battery is a touch annoying.

It does feel like Qualcomm are sweating a little; they seem quick and a touch aggressive regarding any announcement about the Exynos with they PR bulletins.

G Flex2 review is up, 810 heating/throttling issues are present though hopefully a future update will fix this.

Our impression is that the LG G Flex2 got really warm while running a game, or even a benchmark app, for that matter. We also noticed, that when running benchmarks, its performance dropped after the first run, suggesting there is some sort of CPU performance throttling taking place when the temperature rises. The performance penalty amounted to about 20% and it restored back to normal only after the phone had the chance to cool off.

It's reassuring that the GS5 LTE-A with the 1440p screen did about the same as its 1080p sibling, though it has a slightly bigger battery (2800 mAh).

In two minds. My S4 coupled with flashing is still a great phone. I am tempted by the 128GB GS6 or even the Edge, will probably end up on sim-only until more news of the Note 5 of Z4.

They can do one if that's the case. You can't be slapping in a QHD screen, beefy specs, lower the battery capacity and not compensate. I would have happily taken another few millimetres for a bigger battery.

Is any one having a Note 4 or GS6 dilemma? I can't decide....

GS6 - UFS, better SoC, potentially better camera in the future, smaller form factor

Note 4 - probably cheaper, equal camera, I would much rather drop it than the GS6, stylus and very importantly - the battery!

I am in the exact same boat. My contract is due to expire and my old M7 has the well known purple haze issue (quality control / heat problem). I was all set to get the Note 4 but now this! Exactly the pros and cons you list are on my own mind, and I'm really wanting the bigger screen as I'm 6'5" with big hands and I consume a lot of media on my phone.

As you say the S6 has a better SoC and faster RAM, not to mention way faster UFS2 memory. That then leads me down the mental path of 'Well in that case the Note 5 is due at the end of the year and should have the best of both...' route, but then that means waiting with a broken camera phone and a brand new baby begging to be photographed lol

I might go S6 for now and then sell it to use the cash toward a Note 5 later. I hate choosing. :o

Had a think about the N5 but am worried it might go down the glass/metal route. Have you had a play with the S6 yet?

Do we have an inidication of pre-orders? On a related matter, does anyone here use the 3 website much? Checking my bills, upgrades or other things - half the time the site simply breaks and says they're fixing it.

My upgrade will go green in two days :)

Screw it, ordered the Note 4 at no extra cost. If the GS6/N5/Z4 turn out to be wonder phones, I can just sell my Note 4 and brand new GS4 (replacement) to pay for the new handset.
