Probably not.Maybe it's worth some people holding on for another year. Perhaps the S10 will be marketed as an anniversary phone like the iPhone X and have a significant and radical makeover, maybe it'll be a game changer?
Very disappointing release from Samsung if you ask me. It's basically an s8 with a slightly better camera and the fingerprint reader moved.
I guess it's not meant to tempt s8 owners, more the people coming out of their s7 contracts.
The £740 price tag is pretty eye watering when you think you can get the s8 for £450 now though.
You'd have to be an absolute idiot to change phones yearly these days. Such small increments. Two years like you say seems sensible.
Just ordered the s9 with their 0% finance deal. I've never used finance for anything before so that's a new one for me!
I hope this will feel like a decent upgrade from my current Z3! What cases are people going for? I like the look of the official LED option but can't believe I'm contemplating dropping £60 on a phone case.
Well £869 for the top top of the range is rather better than many were expecting too.
I personally think it's a worth while upgrade from the S8+ to be honest:
While the actual physical design of the phone being very similar to last year's model, under the hood it has improved considerably.
>Better cpu
>Better audio (stereo speakers, dolby atmos support)
>More ram (for the S9+ variant)
>Brighter screen
>Better camera (4k at 60fps, dual aperture, 960 fps slow mo)
>Improved Bixby (translate menus for example on the fly)
>Much better fingerprint scanner location.
>Expanded storage increased to the 400gb
>Augmented reality
I personally would have loved to have seen a 4k screen and a screen imbedded fingerprint sensor, but I think the points mentored above are a great reason to upgrade.
What are the nits of the s9+ screen?
It's a 6.2" quad hd+ super amoled 2960 x 1440 529dpi, Samsung have slightly reduced the top and bottom bezels, so the screen to body ratio is slightly higher compared to the S8.
700 bits.Thank you. Do you know how bright it is?
700 bits.
Ah nice didn't see that one. Even better than the Samsung trade in price. Should get £260 for my S7 which brings it down nicely.Ordered it SIM free from Carphone Warehouse whilst trading in my S7E for around £270.
Using a AYCE data Three SIM. Delivery due on the 9th, can't wait.
Does it get hotter using quick charge than Samsung fast charge? I've not really found either to be an issue with my s8 unless I'm hammering it at the timeI read the S9 is still using the ancient Quickcharge 2.0. Hope that's not true as the phone get far too hot for my liking. 4+ is meant to be cooler and more efficient.
Samsung fast charge was basically QC 2 AFAIK. I'm surprised they haven't moved on.That kind of heat for the battery is never a good thing imo. And the fact you can't quick charge while the screen is on, not sure if that's fixed with qc4+.Does it get hotter using quick charge than Samsung fast charge?
