**** The Official Samsung Galaxy S9/S9 Plus Thread ****

Only negative really with the S8 was the positioning of the fingerprint sensor. Don't really see what else they could change or improve on.

- Battery life
- Speaker
- Blueooth Volume (my S8 is absolutely woeful)
- Face ID, Iris recognition speed
- Supply a non curve edge option
- Bigger internal storage options

Think I am going to go for this. On a Sony z2 from 2014 :p. Just been waiting for a phone to come along that appeals to me. I wasn't keen on the appearance of the Samsung flagships until the s8. I think it's really nice and so I've decided to go for the s9+. Almost went for a Google Pixel 2 last year then decided to hold off.

sort the damn finger print sensor out. it would be the fastest way to unlock the phone if it wasnt in such a daft position. Anything else is a bonus!

While it is not in the most convenient of places, I never really got why people struggle with the finger print sensor on the S8. I have the S8+, and using the finger print sensor is pretty easy.

Not once struggled with mine.. baffled by the complaints tbh

Another +1 here. I hold the S8+ in my right hand using the right index finger to unlock, and I dial/type with my left hand. I know it's not the proper way as most people use 2-finger typing with both hands but I never got the knack of that, so I type just left-handed like it's a calculator.

The phone actually working would be a good start. My S7 was the best phone ive had but this S8 has been dreadful, even worse than my S3 was. Will be giving this one a miss I think

Its a pity they couldn't build a fingerprint reader into either the power putton or somewhere along the bezel where your thumb or fingers would be naturally. Having it on the back, while not the end of the world is somewhat unnecessary in this day and age. That said I have a Spigen case on my GN8 so locating the sensor is very easy and never takes a second go at finding it.
I think every other release is the way to go nowadays as each annual change doesn't seem to be a game changer any more (plus the pant tightening cost of them).

That’s more likely to do with the existing patent out there in the US more than anything. I think we’ve seen with the Sony Handsets over there they need to remove the fingerprint scanner from the power button on the side due to that patent.

Given the size of the market over there I assume unlike Sony, Samsung are reluctant to make a second model of the same size of handset for one market.

At least I think I’m right about the patent thing.

Surely the Note 9 or 10 is going to be the near perfect phone? Samsung only need to up their game slightly in the screen department (a first until the iPhone X), stereo speakers, further improvements in the camera (e.g. nearer Sony's 1k frames at 720p for slow motion) and a 4000mAh battery. The finger print reader under the screen should be good to go by the 10 at the latest.

Don't get the comments about S8 battery - mine is great. If you want to talk about awful battery life lets think back to the S6. mine used to need charging about 3 times a day, my S8 lasts all day long.
