**** The Official Samsung Galaxy S9/S9 Plus Thread ****

Don't get the comments about S8 battery - mine is great. If you want to talk about awful battery life lets think back to the S6. mine used to need charging about 3 times a day, my S8 lasts all day long.
Are you one of the lucky ones without the bugs? Yestersay mine went from 74% to 7% in under an hour while getting a warning about google play using 24.1% of the cpu. Something that seems quite common at the minute. It seems I get a new bug every time they update the software. At best my battery will last to early afternoon if i dont use it.

I definitely have never had any battery issues with my S8, it's the best I've had for years. I do unfortunately have an issue with my camera though - quite often I have to shake the phone to get it to focus when I first open it!

If they just bin the bixby nonsense, then little spec bumps here and there are all that would be needed. There hasn't been any big new breakthroughs to use. Hopefully they can get the fingerprint sensor under the screen, so it unlocks when you press the screen to wake.

Software needs to improve, still a case of working butter smooth for a month or two and then the complete opposite.

Had my S8+ for 4 months now, in beta so its on the last beta, and it's running so smoothly no complaints about speed here it's super fast. Finger print sensor took me a few days to get used to and now it's muscle memory. My wife has an iPhone and I picked it the other day and tried to put my finger on the back right to unlock without thinking (I have a slim case on it which I think helps with finger placement too)
The only things I can think of off the top of my head to improve is the speaker and let you remap bixby button or remove it, nothing else leaps out as needing any massive improvement. Screen is amazing, the battery life on the + is great, everything runs fast, even samsung's software is pretty good, though I use Nova Launcher myself.

Prices largely stayed the same for a few generations and then they started taking the ****! £100 more for not that much of an upgrade is ridiculous. Yet people will still pay....
  • S9 (£789), S9+ (£999)
  • S8 (£689), S8+ (£779), Note 8 (£869)
  • S7 (£569), S7 Edge (£639)
  • S6 (£599), S6 Edge (£699)
  • S5 (£600)
  • S4 (£630)

Indeed they will, it's the mainly the younger generation carrying them as well. The same generation claiming they can't afford homes and lack opportunities yet they carry a £1000 Facebook browser in their pocket. The S9 will sell in droves undoubtedly.

much like iphones - they priced them at £1000 plus and sold bucket loads with people queing the get them. Don't understand it at all. £400/£450 price phone is 9/10ths of the £1000 phones. but half the price.

People really need to look at themselves and stop paying silly money for a phone. The prices are getting beyond silly now and it is happening just like the whole microtransaction affair plaguing gaming, the latter of which has been steadily on the rise over the past 5yrs. Sod that. £600 tops for any phone purchase for me.

It's worth bearing in mind Clove are very speculative and may well be gouging before we all get the pitchforks.. I doubt they've got official pricing.

I'm quite sure whatever the top of the range version is may be getting there but I don't see anything scaling the heights of the iPhone X 256gb.

The price quoted there is for starters for the rumoured plus version so obviously there's likely to be a non plus well under £999

Think I'd rather get another s7 worth those prices and the fingerprint on the back. No need to upgrade!

I'm going to say it again.. the fingerprint on the back is just a non issue for me.. I literally don't understand how people can have such poor control over their hands lol.. I'm 5'9 so not massive by any stretch and have zero issues with my S8+

My S7 Edge is still going super strong after 2 years, best phone I've ever had, but a part of me feels like upgrading just so I can have the latest and greatest again :p
