**** The Official Samsung Galaxy S9/S9 Plus Thread ****

Android pi beta due to drop this week according to the Samsung conference app which takes place 7th/8th November.

You'll need to install the Samsung members app and sign in to be able to sign into the beta

Has the beta sign up started? Not noticed anything in the members app.

Update to my query above - with Carphone Warehouse I can now get the S9 on an upgrade deal for £33 for 24 months with 15GB of data. £0 upfront. Massively tempted. Should I cave in or wait a few more days for more offers?? I am coming from the S7 edge. ADVICE?!?!

Had the glass over the camera lens's replaced and never gave it a thought untill I tried to take a photo the following day. Camera seemed unable to focus, only being in focus at about a range of 4 inches. Focus tracking and what have you all seem to work just not focusing at all. Think the pillocks who repaired it would check the camera before handing it back. Never crossed my mind as assumed they would. Can't be bothered to dick about so dropped it in at carphone warehouse with instructions to repair (but no mention of glass  ). Should have took it to them in first place.

Monday morning got a txt from TechGuys saying they'd repaired my phone and were sending it back to my local store. Picked it up the other evening and they've replaced both rear camera assemblies and the front one too. Done a good job too and not removed the Dome Glass screen protector. I reset the phone before handing it over for repair and now reloaded which as nicely freshened the OS up. I've been using an old moto x play, the only spare phone I have. Very slow to the edge of tedious compared to the S9! As I said before, I should have just taken it to the 'TechGuys' in the first place.

Updated Information for UK users waiting on the Beta
u/Danswers7
Lots and lots of mis-information regarding the beta so I thought I'd clear a couple of things up.

  1. The beta will be available on all unlocked phones. Even if you got your phone through a carrier it may still be unlocked. In fact I think most are (two exceptions I know of are Three and Vodafone. Feel free to add more if you know any).

  2. Reports of the beta going live on the 20th were a mistake, we have removed this information from the One UI faq now.

  3. The beta for the UK (and other 2nd wave countries) is currently listed as coming soon. All I can confirm is that this will be between now and January. What I will say is that mid-December is most likely.

  4. I've seen a lot of posts about people getting frustrated with checking the Notices section of the members app. Just a quick FYI, the app sends notifications about notices by default. As long as you haven't changed settings and have notifications enabled you don't need to keep checking.
I hope this will alleviate some frustrations.

Are Amazon/Samsung the only places I should keep an eye out for Black Friday/Cyber Monday deals? Looking for sim free.

Love my s9. I went from 7 to 9 and don't regret it. So much better and faster all round. We don't know what the s10 will be yet but it won't be around for a good few months yet and you will pay a premium for it on release.
The galaxy S 10 is due to be released at CES in Jan so we have around 7 weeks until we know what to expect.
