The EE handset plans are Max plans as far as I'm aware, they don't sell SIM Only Max plans anymore, so technically he could be correct.Popped in to EE the other week to look at upgrade options and they seemed to think that ordering through mobiles.co.uk would mean I would only piggy back off the EE network and speeds would suffer. This is BS right?

Read the link...I think its a typo - its actually £699/829 + free MicroSD card (64gb for S9, 128gb for S9+).
They're also offering around 275 for trade-in on an S7 Edge (260 for a S7) including the extra £100 that won't show online. That seems to be a lot more than they're selling for privately without any of the hassle.
So that brings down the price to 554. Quidco is also available, but not convinced that it will pay out on anything other than the SIM free handset purchase at 2.5% (so another £20 or so off). Still all that combined is making it more attractive for me to buy - Man Maths is working to try and convince me to go for one![]()
I very much doubt you will be able to cancel a 12month sim only without paying it in full, then again that's HUKD for youRead the link...
Its not a typo.
Basically involves buying the phone with a £30 12 month Vodafone sim only, you pay £599 upfront or £729 then just cancelling the Sim only when it arrives within the 14 day cooling off period.
EDIT: Reading through comments, theres some back and forth as to whether CPW will let you cancel the sim only and keep the phone, some have shown chat logs saying yes some have shown some saying no. Then you have some claiming they've done it in the past.
I guess do it at your own risk would be a disclaimer here.
So just cancelled my S7 contract with EE which was up for renewal in a couple of weeks anyway and wanted to get the deal below for a new S9 from either mobiles.co.uk or mobilephonesdirect.co.uk
£249 up front for handset
£33 per month
8Gb data
Spoke to EE to see if they can give me a deal but the best they can do with the same contract is £450 up front so £200 more over the length of the contract. Apparently I can't get a PAC and transfer it back to EE without messing around with interim SIM only phone. What a pain.
May just ditch the PAC and deal with a new number. No easier way around this at all?
Very disappointing release from Samsung if you ask me. It's basically an s8 with a slightly better camera and the fingerprint reader moved.
I guess it's not meant to tempt s8 owners, more the people coming out of their s7 contracts.
The £740 price tag is pretty eye watering when you think you can get the s8 for £450 now though.
You'd have to be an absolute idiot to change phones yearly these days. Such small increments. Two years like you say seems sensible.
Yeah pretty annoying to have to jump through hoops but for £200 I'm willing to make at least some effort.I have had a similar experience with EE, the deals they give you are terrible on phones. You can get much better contract and data terms and price you pay for the phone with other places. EE are terrible, its like they don't want to keep customers, been with them for 10 years and i am very close to deleting my contract with them.

Quite tempted by the Samsung trade in offer of £206 for my S7 making an S9 £533 and then jumping onto a 3 SIM only plan. £15pm for 12Gb. Get to keep my number then too.
