**** The Official Sony Xperia 1 Thread ****

Same as me then, got one that looks similar to Spigen Rugged Armour that I've used on my last two phones. Can't grumble at £6 as long as it semi decent quality material.

ZOMG! The Xperia 1 is capable of... HDMI OUT!

I have a type C to HDMI cable and it outputs perfectly. Absolutely chuffed - now just have to hope they sort the headphone offer issues.

Well mine works with my three sim (no idea how to sort out wifi calling) but nothing with my O2 sim yet which is always handy.

Maybe a bit harsh saying it felt cheap, it actually feels quite solid and I'm loving the screen.

Downloaded and watched some 4K demos and liking what I see, looking a solid buy for me so far.

No to get rid of the bloat though, hopefully the same old trick works.

Hard to judge really, but I've used about 10% in the last two hours mainly listening to Spotify, watching a few demos etc. Best waiting for a site like GSMArena to do a comprehensive battery test to be honest.

It is tall, but it's narrow frame really lends itself to one handed usage, I find my thumb can easily cover one side to the other . Of course upper areas still require some juggling.

Hey, congratulations for the new phone.
Would you tell us how you feel the camera? Night show, low light levels and sensitivity?

Only mucked about with the options and took a few snaps in the house. Few observations though.

There doesn't seem to be a dedicated 'night mode' per se , in low light conditions night mode kicks in automatically and is competent enough but not Pixel/P30 pro levels.

Auto shots are quite soft.

The super wide lens has some noticeable distortion but there is an option to correct this at the sacrifice of some detail.

If the weather's decent tomorrow I might get out and about with it.

Ok I've been on the phone a bit this morning and listened to some music, down to 92% battery now, I'll keep you updated :)

My O2 sim is now working after switching it off and on this morning. So far so good phone wise but I can't get Netflix to install some error keeps happening even after factory reset.
Anyone else having the same issue?

Adjusting well to the phone. Not sure I'll stick with O2 once the cashback and headphones are in. Signal in the office is shocking compared to 3 and EE.

Yeah this order process was an an absolute joke from O2. Still no word today so just rang the branch and they said they have it. Then asked me a collection code from my email, I never even had a confirmation that my order was accepted, nevermind that.

Finally have the phone but the order slip in the box indicates that I ordered it on the 30th when I did so on the evening of 28th. Good thing the headphone offer on O2 is on until 30th and not 29th like CPW.

I'm seriously not tickled right by these lot, almost like they skipping steps to sabotage my cashback which curiously hasn't tracked at all. Won't bother giving them any airtime business and cancel the second the headphone claim is approved.

Any pics of the new phones? so tempted by it but need to see it up close

Not the most exciting thing to photograph, not in a bad way, just a rather understated design. Call it elegant if you like but the back is a fingerprint magnet and rather visible due to mirror finish.

How is everyone finding their fingerprint sensor? I've scanned mine 3 times now and still finding it very hit and miss at the moment.

Also almost feels a novel feature in today's world but it has LED notification in the top left. Also either I'm not good at it or side sense activation is a little off.

EDIT: Where's the dark mode on this?

I have gotten used to the fingerprint reader now. Mines only just started to connect to the O2 network about 26 hours after I picked it up so thats good....

Cheap case on it and what I thought were glass screen protectors but were plastic, bloody terrible things so some glass ones on order now (no matter how tough the screen is I will scatch it in 5 mins - so it's back in its box till they turn up on Monday).

Waiting to hear back from someone who works at three about whether or not wifi calling will work on their network. If so ill cancel the O2 contract and jump on my current three one. (Did a quick test and calls work on it ok).

To get dark mode just search for theme in setting and you will see the option.

I'm actually a little concerned here, scanned my my fingerprints half a dozen times now and I'm still struggling badly to open the phone reliably.

Also having the strange problem where I can't install Netflix (so much for trying that 4k 21:9 content) and see a few people mention that on other forums.

Mine works straight away now I think every time I use it. Did you try relearning it?

I'll try and install Netflix if it wasn't already installed when I transferred stuff from my old phone over when I get home from work and see how I get on.

I keep deleting the fingerprints and adding them again, on my 6th set now. It's even being funny when I'm scanning them, need to repeat the same spots on the finger a lot. Sensor and fingers are clean and never had issues with other phones, there's a guy on YouTube who's having same problem as me.

Someone else here mentioned they can't get Netflix on and seen it mentioned on another forum too. Just general error so no idea what's causing it.

EDIT: Basically same issues as this guy
