Oh wow, some locals have just gone right up to the capsule in their own boats!

I'm fairly certain that none of the SpaceX boats are sporting a Trump flag :D

Probably thinking they could give Doug and Bob a warm handshake welcome, maybe throw in a maskless cough or two. Stupid is as stupid does. The trump flag was unsurprising based on their actions. :p

Any word on the starship hop attempt later today?

Probably expected them to step out so they can crack open a Bud Lite together :D

I think Starship is tomorrow.

Meh feels like we've gone backwards we were landing pods on parachutes in the 60's and 70's, then we moved to shuttles, now we're back to pods on parachutes 60 years later :p
There’s a limit to how many technical hurdles they want to deal with at once. I think they’re aiming for on land engine braked landings eventually.

That will be cool, but they should have gone with that first before crew, unmanned supplies to the ISS and unmanned engine braked landings, none of this 20th century parachute tech :p
It was all very reminiscent of the Apollo landings, granted. One minor difference, the astronauts then went straight to quarantine. Now we have a live pandemic and little signs of serious quarantine.

NASA insisted on chutes as it was tried and tested tech. Space X wanted to use SuperDraco engines to land on terra firma

Looks like SN5 will be making its hop attempt tonight. Beach, road and pad area have all been cleared. Possibly taking off around midnight.
