** The Official WWDC 2025 thread - Keynote 9th June at 18:00 BST **

Ok liquid glass actually doesn’t look too bad after reading/watching this post from MR forums.

Beta 1 is far from the final design it seems. The video shows a better representation.

you can see it in this video after 6 minute mark: https://developer.apple.com/videos/play/wwdc2025/219

develop focused video giving developers overview of final design

Missing in Dev Beta 1
-lower refraction of text
- button legibility on variable backgrounds
- No Color Bleeding in final design
- Button label changes color based on background

One thing I find a shame is that loads and loads of third party cross-platform apps don't use Apple's own APIs so you never get to see all these lovely UI features apart from the apps that Apple build. When you look at something unique to iOS like Sky Guide, you see what Swift can do.

MacOS 26 not needed (I think)

Looks like you need xCoode Beta though - I'm not in a rush to try it anyway.

100% some of the APIs are fantastic, but there seems to be a real bad uptake on them - even the whole Metal ecosystem seems to be fantastic, but we still don't get huge uses out of them - although seeing more and more "triple A" games like Cyperpunk, AC etc coming out gives me hope. Swift's big issue for me is the fact that you still have the two disparate UI kits and I think the more modern one hasn't been documented as well.

Anyone connected the dots yet with this liquid glass and the rumoured all-glass iPhone? :D 2027 will be the 20th anniversary. Probably launch then.

Great video! Anyone who says Liquid Glass is a cheap copy of Android or Windows Vista/Aero needs a smack. :D

Problem with WWDC was that it only showed the icons which don't really do much. But the controls and panels are much more fluid. I can't wait to use it. Might have to put the dev beta on my iPad.

M4 in an iPad is hilarious, especially when the software is barely more than what iOS offers.

WWDC always makes me wonder how many highly paid and skilled people they have working on OS theming and emojis.
Its all they do these days, just working on emoji's and themes is what most their effort goes towards
