well after saying next January for delivery, it arrived today

Hi Guys, how does this score look for my new Pascal Titan X? never been one for benchmarking before really, both card and CPU are at stock speed with the latest driver version released the other day.
The card before it was a Maxwell Titan X and on same system in screen shot and same driver version, it scored 19634, seems like a decent increase to me, but since I've never benchmarked before am asking for confirmation my new card is doing well and about right?
For stock clocks your score looks fine.

By the way I live in Southampton too.
They are not wasted even at 1080p.
The real question is, will the performance increase over a 1070 or 1080 be worth it to you for the very high asking price.
You buy the Pascal Titan because it is the fastest solution available. Unfortunately it is not always the best solution when you take into account bang for buck and other factors too.
Or putting it another way, if you won't miss the money go for it and enjoy.
Sorry if this has been asked already but the thread is 60 pages long.
Has anyone here done any actual testing to see if Titans in SLI will saturate the lanes on a z170/z270 board? Been googling for hours and the closest I could find was an article on techpowerup where they tested a single 1080 in various lane speeds which didn't see any performance hit going from 3.0 x16 to x8. There's been no tests on SLI and pci-e scaling on the pascal architecture at all from what I can see.
Well, there was that test over at Puget Systems but the results from that was so weird they must have done something wrong, you shouldn't get less performance from more bandwidth, not to mention their lackluster choice of realworld gaming benchmarks. Plus it was an x99 platform where they gimped the lanes in BIOS.
The results look about right with Puget systems.
In some situations you can get more performance switching to PCI-E 2.0 as it reduces CPU workload which in turn allows for higher fps. If something like 3dmark11 is used with several cards the fps will be very high but at a low resolution so bandwidth is not as important as out and out CPU speed.
The above type of situations are quite rare but they do exist. For normal use there is not much difference between PCI-E 2.0 and 3.0 or X16 and X8. For normal use the difference is about 1% or 2%.

Some of us like waterblocks on everything so reference cooler does not matter.
Having said that the Pascal Titan cooler is not bad, but waterblocks are needed for maximum performance.
2 way SLI 16/16 is slightly better than 8/8 but we are talking about 1% or less.
For normal gaming with 1 or 2 cards there is very little difference between Zx70 and X99.
From what I understand of it Zx70 systems do like fast memory but don't spend too much money on it as it could be better spent on the GPUs themselves.

It is better than any AIB cooler simply because it does not dump hot air into the case. This is the main reason for using the reference cooler.
AIB partner coolers can be an absolute nightmare in a badly configured system with poor air flow, this is something the reference cooler has to deal with.
And FE coolers are rubbish in a well configured case. They have their place in ITX builds, sure. But Nvidia demand that you pay £1179 without offering any choice. And why are you arguing for them? When you, along with seemingly the majority of TXP owners, have replaced your FE coolers as quickly as possible...
I could say the same about AMD reference coolers.
Both vendors have to provide a cooler that will work under all conditions found in peoples systems.
Sometimes the end user needs saving from their own stupidity and that means the reference coolers are the way they are, this is not going to change however much people moan about it.
NVidia don't have to offer a choice either as they know that as you pointed out we often fit waterblocks anyway.
The truth is AIB partner coolers are rubbish because they won't work under all conditions found in peoples systems, this is a situation that neither vendor can afford to have with a reference card.
Apart from their extra ROPs Memory and bus width.
Having said that I don't think anyone bought a Titan worrying about their second hand value.
The 1080 Ti is actually good news for Titan users as not only have they had 7 months use out of them already but they are also good for another approximately 12 months before anything faster comes along in the shape of Volta.
