this morning i had to drive back from my girlfriend's place. im travelling on some dual carriageways that are a couple miles from her place, my engine is stone cold, so im not going anywhere quickly eventhough there is no traffic about at all.

instead, i play with the multi million options on my headunit to control the cross overs etc there is a half mile straight stretch, im sure i looked up to check for things once or twice, but i was trying to decide whether to have the highpass on my fronts at 120hz or 160hz.

so i was driving without looking where i was going, i was probably weaving on the empty road too.

i look up when i get to the roundabout, i see a copper with a speed gun standing next to his brightly coloured mondeo. my speedo said i was doing 35mph in a 40mph zone.

thats fine, until you think that the coppers did not pull a guy who was not looking where he was driving, too busy playing with his hifi and weaving on the road. simply because i wasnt speeding.

lol, Same thing happened to me but on the motorway, Was hogging the middle lane (as you do) and sorting my HU out as my MP3 had decided to stop working :( and all of a sudden i look up to see 2 police jeeps speed past and pull over the woman in front of me??!! I was like WTF!

Not sure why they pulled her but she was going faster then me and had just under taken me so maybe thats why, But i was the one in the wrong!

Ooo exciting story

Maybe you wern't that all over the place?? Not like your on the backroads/twisties.

I am sure at 35 in a 40 you were hardly doing some crazy stuff. If you mess with the settings on your stereo unless your totally uncoordinated I don't see how you would be driving so poorly.

Next time try drifting past him at 20, long as your under the speed limit you will be fine.

What if a police officer saw you speed through a camera and get flashed. Is he entitled to pull you over and charge you for speeding, or does the camera serve that purpose and he simply has to let you carry on. Presuming you don't speed off from the cameras location.

Afaik you can't be charged twice for the same offence, tho in this crazy country of political correctness gone wrong you probably could.

I've always said that minimal speeding offences are just a revenue spinner. Who is more likely to have or cause an accident? The guy doing 38 in a 30 with good concentration or the guy doing 20 in a 30 and not looking where his going?

I can see someone thats not going to get his post count above 6 ^

If the police are stupid for not pulling a driver who was 'not looking where he was driving, too busy playing with his hifi and weaving on the road', what does that make YOU for being the aforementioned driver?

they couldnt do you using the flashing camera as the evidence, but i imagine if they're say 100m down the road and have a radar then they could, no different from having closely spaced speed cameras

From reading Pepipoo I believe that if you get 2 NIPs from closely spaced speed cameras on the same journey then it is normally classed as one offence.

I saw someone get pulled over for setting off one of those speed reminder circle things that light up if you go over 30 through it.

Well, if you got caught for driving without due care and attention, I bet you would post it here like the others, asking how you would get out of it!
