I'm new to this, but is this bokeh, or merely out of focus shizzle?

Top right, those little 'bubbles' of light are definitely bokeh! :D
ok, how's this? :p
I think you got the art down to a tee mate :p
Would this be classed as "Bokeh"?

If you look to the right of the glass... See those little 'bubbles'? That'd be bokeh, as it's out of focus points of light, IE. where light is being reflected into the lens whilst being out of focus :)

Guess it depends on your take. I have never heard it being limited to "out of focus points of light" based on what some random stuck on Wikipedia :)

I guess so. I mean, if you want to be pedantic, it just refers to the quality of the out-of-focus parts of an image, but generally when people talk about bokeh, they'll be talking about OoF points of light, such as those in Raymond's excellent examples.

I disagree. My finding has always been that they are talking about the OOF areas of any image ;)

agreed. Most reviews i have read on lenses have also just referred to the creaminess of the background when referring to bokeh.
