got the canon ef 70-200 f4l 'through the post' today, took 90 photos with it so far. did see any birds to photograph in the afternoon but managed to take photos of 1 sat on my neighbours drain couple of hours ago.

just a couple of the photos I took of it.

it looks like you are missing the focus on the bird. What settings are you at?

not sure if those are the ones with the auto or manual settings as I did take have a 'play' with both. but according to the exif its 1/200, f4, iso 400.

don't currently have a tripod(well have a gorrilapod slr) so those were handheld, wasn't able to hold it too steady.
