By the way, will be popping in with a nice Xmas gift at some point
It has arrived and once installed (following the self-destruction of that infuriating PCI-e clip that thankfully broke off - good riddance!) and there was much rejoicing:

It's a lovely looking card:

So you've used one cable that splits into 2 at the GPU end?Put together my son’s new build over the weekend.
should I have used 2 single cables to the 8 pin graphics card power supply rather than using one cable with the jumper set?
If they've done it on a YouTube channel then I'd be watching someone elseYep, newbie error by the looks of it, although I’ve seen you tubers do it too!
will add a 2nd cable tomorrow as the Z63 cooler arrives tomorrow too.
then will post pics of the final virgin outcome!
Card runs a little warmer then I thought it would so set some more aggressive fan profiles but definitely not overheating.
Anyone else experienced this??
mine idles around 50 - but the fan is barely even on at this point if at all
in default modes its around 70-75 in game
OC mode had it going to high 80s (which scared me a bit)
think it just has a very relaxed fan profile by default (so is nice and quiet)
So you've used one cable that splits into 2 at the GPU end?
If so it's always best to use 2 single cables![]()
Normally to do with the amount of power a single cable can safely pull down, wasn't it 150W? Either way it's something that's been around for a long time now, have a Google and see what comes backDo you have something to back this up? I can do it with two cables but it will look ugly when I have one cable that spits so not keen on using two
Very nice.Just arrived from AMD
