I've got my 6800XT paired with an i7 8700k. How much more performance could I get out of it if paired it with one of new Ryzen chips?

I'm running an 8700k and a RX6800 and it's running beautifully at 1440p 144hz, it's still a capable CPU for gaming. If you look at some benchmarks, you're not going to see much or any difference using a 8700k or a Ryzen 5000 at 1440p or above (and I don't think a 6800 would be a good investment for just 1080p anyway).

Can you post a picture of the GPU Tuning fan section? Is it possible you changed something?

Finally got around to looking at it, when I open Tuning it comes up with a EULA to sign, so I assume I've never adjusted the fans or anything in there at all. Fans still aren't activating until 70C after a driver reinstall, odd!

Yeah that means you have not touched it. DDU and clean install of 21.1.1.

Are you using any third party apps like MSI Afterburner?

I'm gaming at 4k with a LG 60hz freesync monitor and getting just under 50 fps with Cyberpunk, which looks great and plays well. Fancy doing some overclocking and see what more I can get out of it.

I had a 3080 preordered but jumped on the 6800XT when they went up for sale last week and glad I did. Some how feels better giving team red my money :D

So I've managed to isolate the cause of the noise on my Nitro + 6800XT SE. It's the middle fan that's creating a high-pitched noise.
As the Sapphire cards are designed for easy fan replacement I took it out and reseated it, after making sure that there were no obvious defects. Still making the noise so I'm guessing its the bearings or just a bad design. No one else appears to have complained about the noise so it's just mine I guess.

Given that I seem to have got decent performing card this time round, and there aren't any more in stock, I don't really want to RMA it. Can you get Sapphire/OCUK to replace a single fan?

I’m sure if you contact Sapphire and open an RMA they will send you a new fan with proof of purchase.

I'm getting seriously fed up with this card now. It'll crash several times a night even on stock settings. This is a clean install of Windows, up to date, and I've only installed the most recent display driver so it's not getting some old driver problems. It's not overheating (nor is the rest of my system) and it happens when when I limit my frame rate. Is this a viable reason to return it?

What PSU? Two Cables?
Is your system or anything on it overclocked?
Does it happen with BIOS optimised defaults and memory at 2133Mhz?
If your answer is yes to the bottom one it could be faulty. If you can try it on a different system that should confirm.

Yes two PSU rails. The PSU has 4x PCI-e connectors and I'm using 1 from GPU1 and 1 from GPU 2 to spread the load over rails. Can't remember exact PSU model but it's 7 or 850watts platinum fully modular and a solid brand (I'll check). RAM is XMP 3600MHz it's 8pac 3600 RAM. I'll try out the optimised defaults.

If it doesn't crash at 2133MHz then what's the point in having the much faster RAM, I have DDR3 that runs at 2133! It will affect my 3700x CPU performance which also matters a lot when gunning for high frame rates?

No overclocks except for RAM.

If it doesn’t crash at 2133Mhz then your memory overclock is not stable. It might be a faulty GPU, but you should rule everything out first as you can be sure that the retailer will test on a machine running at stock with 2133Mhz memory with auto timings.
