Sporting integrity only rented for a season it seems.

Aberdeen releasing a statement that their position remains the same that a Rangers newco must apply to the SFL and treated like any other club.

Currently looking like it's an idea created by the chief executives of the different football bodies and sent to the clubs.

Surely if they can do this the contracts with them are evidence of league fixing?

Why on earth would a supposedly above board, fair and sporting league require that certain teams are present within the league?

Till this happened there was zero chance of Rangers or Celtic being relegated. Hardly league fixing. Rangers took a ten point reduction for going into admin and still finished second.

Granted yes it was extremely unlikely....... but look where we are.

Regardless of how unlikely it has now placed the future of Scottish football in doubt....... SPL are doing all they can to get a new club, of unknown backing and future back into the top tier to satisfy the demands of commercial contracts that are based on certain being in the top league, sounds like a lawsuit waiting to happen if you ask me.

Also if those are the terms of the contracts whats to stop them saying actually these contracts were based on Rangers Football Club being in the SPL and as they are no longer around we want to renegotiate even if newco are in the SPL?

there has been negotiations, sky will honour the present deal for one season with rangers out with the spl.

Sounds like a good enough reason to me to tell Sky to do one, the leagues shouldn't be decided by Sky. Only by merit.

Perhaps rather than trying to figure out a way of getting newco back into the top tier the powers that be should listen to what the football fans want. The SPL clubs seem to have come to the conclusion that newco in the SPL will do more harm than good to them from the fans responses.

if they want to live the lifestyle they are accustomed too , they need rangers in the spl within a year.the fans ? these turkeys will vote for christmas , all in the name of "sporting integrity" of course.

Don't bet on it, the fans of other clubs are different to old firm fans they are used to supporting teams that have little chance of winning. To let newco back into the top tier is seen by many as an attempt to maintain the balance of power in Scottish football, many fans will walk away from football over this.

its about money , thats all , balance of power ? celtic need rangers in the spl to maintain the balance of power, even although their fans bolk at the thought.

Last time I checked there were 10 other teams in the SPL that would like that balance of power broken......... yet you chose to focus on Celtic needing Rangers to maintain the balance.

This is why the other clubs are standing up and saying no to newco, the arrogance of the old firm believing that they are the only clubs in Scotland that matter.

i chose celtic because they need rangers and vice versa to maintain the voting structure of the spl , i only told the truth
