Yes thats true.

Ah back to the old new club scenario.

Rangers were alive since 1873 I've already posted the definitions of a club as per the dictionary.

Rangers are not a new club they are a club that's now been bought over by a new company.

Or to put it another way to make it more easy for you. What if the company that owns Hibs or Saints or hearts had bought Rangers? Would they still require 3 years of accounts since the company that owns these clubs has 3 years of accounts.

Becomes murky then doesn't it.

3 years of accounts are for new "clubs" to the SFA set up not "old" clubs whose assets have been bought over by a new company.

But but but that doesn't fit the agenda....

Ah, but aren't the accounts to prove the creditworthiness and financial ability for the company/club to pay their bills and not drop the other clubs in the **** as it were. The Rangers newco have no accounts and therefore no track record.
How good is their ability to pay the bills?

I hadn't realized there was a precident in Airdieonians being liquidated. Their history stopped in 2002 when the new club/company was formed. Don't see how the Rangers scenario is any different.

The bottom line is fans will see it as being the same club, and there's nothing wrong with that at all, but for the purposes of league admission etc it is a new club.

Are the debts and tax issues not linked to the financial accounts? So the account trail must have ended with the old company otherwise the new company would still have the same debts.

No, they are for all clubs, as is having yearly audited accounts.

Sevco is a new club, Rangers cease to exist when the old club is liquidated however there is a thin line - everything else remains the same, the ground, the fans, the strip, so its fair to assume the history remains too, legally it doesnt - to Rangers fans, it will - to fans of people looking to beat them with a stick, it wont, in actuality, it doesnt matter one bit.

Looks like Green is calling in all the media favours today now that it's make-or-break week for Rangers. They won't be happy at the Rangerstaxcase web site though. :p

It would be interesting to know what the terms of the payment to SFL are, could it be cancelled just because Rangers aren't in the SPL or is it just more scaremongering?

It's just more scaremongering. While the SPL exists the payment to the SFL is guaranteed from the pool of all income generated by the SPL from commericial and broadcasting. It'll probably be a percentage of the total revenue but haven't found anything to say what it is.

From the SFL they say its 1.8 million. Time will tell. the SFL should delay their meeting till after the SPL vote to force their hand.

And I have to laugh at people saying they are trying to help Rangers by putting them in Div 1. I cry ****** to that they are trying to help themselves as they know after this season Sky will be gone and they need Rangers back to keep any kind of deal in place. This has nothing to do with helping Rangers nothing at all.

Surprising that there is no urgency from SFL, SPL regarding this whole problem.

They announced liquidation on 12th June and it was formally notified on 14th June it takes nearly 4 weeks for the SPL teams to accept or not the SPL share back to Rangers. Couldn't they do this faster ?

We already know about SFL's proposal for Div 1 status for more than 1 week now yet surprisingly we don't know where, when or who will meet to decide this.

The league starts in under 5 weeks time. European games start before that.

Are they going to accept Rangers or play 1 league with 11/9 teams in it.

Also Dundee or Dunfermline when will that be decided do we have a date on this? Also who decides it? SPL, SFL, SPL board, SFL executive?

What a mess and a snail's pace of action on sorting it out.
