this is not unique in world football, though im not saying it makes it right.(and has happened in scotland, the aberdeen/falkirk relegation farce)

It's not unique to sport even but at a fundamental level it doesn't sit well that anyone/anything/anywhere gets treated differently in terms of justice - it should be universally applied or it becomes somewhat worthless.

there seems to be a perception that rangers are being treated differently in some way to benefit rangers, thats not true, the proposals are only there to benifit the other spl clubs, get that cash cow to the milking stall !

It's that the treatment is different that would bother me, I'm not especially concerned about at whose behest it is done. For me it would still be wrong to treat Rangers more favourably or more harshly because of who they are and their size.

totally agree with both lord fletch and semi-pro both have valid points and both are making the same points.

Really Gers fans have been asking for Div 3 for weeks now as have most reasonable footie fans (ignoring the hard core who class rangers the same as local pub teams lol) yet we are still waiting and probably will still be waiting after July 4th.

The stalling is crippling season ticket sales and crippling our club the delay seems almost punishment in itself some sort of perverted drawn out punishment for the average gers fan who just wants to know against whom they will play in August.

Financially Rangers have lost out since they have been denied proper pre season competition in what league how can the team be put together when we don't even know where we will be

Shame on SFA Shame on SFL and Shame on SPL for their actions so far.

Yes but they are not doing it for rangers. Let's get that fact straight. They have messed up big time and they know it. I wonder how many feel foolish at rushing out no statements now lol.

Yeah thats true also, there is no precedent whatsoever for Rangers to be in the first, the fans dont want it (both sides) - Rangers goto the third they start again they have paid their penance when they come back no hard feelings, they goto the first or stay in the SPL then it will be brought up for years to come.

If we cant survive one team going to the third for 3 or 4 years then we are in a terrible shape and we need this shake up, whatever happens.

You'd think the SPL clubs would be happy with the old firm losing their stranglehold on league decisions. If Rangers are no longer in it, then they cant influence decisions made by it. Drop to Div3, no more sanctions, work their way back up, live within their means n stay debt free. How hard a decision is that?

This is whats going to happen now.

Tomorrow - the SFL clubs will decide that there is no to newco in division one, its division 3 or nothing.

Wednesday - the teams that have said no to newco in the SPL will backtrack and Rangers will be allowed in with sanctions.

Fans will revolt, there will be a huge number of teams not able to sustain themselves as a result, Aberdeen, Dundee United, Kilmarnock, St Mirren, Motherwell and a few others will find themselves in administration pretty quickly.

or

SFL clubs will vote newco into division one (now the best option) - there you have it folks, there is no way now that Rangers will start the season in division 3, its Div 1 or SPL with sanctions (transfer ban, loss of income etc).

Any shame on rangers at all - like, for putting them into this precarious position in the first place - or is still everyone elses fault?

Shame on the previous owners.

As we know the police are investigating Whyte over his takeover and running of the club and not the club itself. Seems the law of the land knew the club was at his mercy and not at fault. Unlike some.

Look down south John Terry faces a criminal case what does the FA do? It steps back and will look at what they have to do AFTER the case is finished.

Up here? SFA charges in headfirst and even now when there is a criminal investigation underway they still wont put anything on hold.

So ****** Amatuer.

There is no vote at todays SFL meeting that will take place at a later date.

Or option 3 we goto Div 3 and there will be a huge number of teams not able to sustain themselves as a result, Aberdeen, Dundee United, Kilmarnock, St Mirren, Motherwell and a few others will find themselves in administration pretty quickly.

It could be argued that Rangers can be added to that list.

However, its all speculation theres no saying what will happen. Very uncertain times ahead regardless of what happens.

and they are doing this to benefit themselves not rangers, if this happens ,what a climbdown from a cabal of small minded bitter no mark chairmen, thought you said this wouldnt happen mark ? that there would be plenty money to sustain the spl clubs, selling another 1k season tickets ,sky would still support them ,local derbys ect,the sfa and the spl couldnt organize a **** up in a brewery.

god save the queen, god bless the rangers.

They would be doing it to benefit themselves and Rangers if it happens, but it will cause far more harm to Scottish football more than any other option, they will find that out the hard way, more fans will be lost to the game from clubs across the leagues as a result of this.
