The Rangers Saga and Fallout Thread

Passion aside, Rangers were insolvent and effectively defrauded the HRMC. There are 100s of companies who go bust from bad management with a "great history".

Why should they be treated any differently from other teams who have gone bust? Why should they be forgiven and allowed to bend new joiner rules? A "colourful history" is not really a reason is it?

Then why is it that its it Craig Whyte that is being investigated by the police and not Rangers???

Neil Doncaster tells sfl that Sky, Espn and sport 5 deals at threat as contracts require RFC in spl in 2013/14 value 17.35 mill

Lol they are ****ed then :) As if he is still pushing for us in div 1 he is also saying they have to let us win it as in our current state with the players we have I think we might struggle.

Now why shoudl the SFL help them out surely he sould be saying this to SPL chairmen trying to get them to vote yes to share transfer.

Not sure why he is being chased to be honest, you tell me.

Rangers as a company did not pay tax over his reign and allegedly not under the EBT scheme. If the case, company is at fault there, if Craig Whyte himself personally has committed anything unlawful this would be in addition.

Companies don't get chased by the police for unpaid tax, HMRC chase and take them to courts (which is what is happening to Rangers)

if I don't pay my tax, I get chased. If Company XYZ dont pay their tax, they get chased. No?

I'd love to see that contract

"1.2.1b Thereby if Rangers are not in the SPL specifically in season 2013/204, we will take all our monies and run!"

What about 2012/13? :D So if they go to Division 1, it's a fix and have to win it?

2012/2013 is the last year of the current deal. they are basically saying if we are not there for 2013/14 season there would be new deal at all.

As for your second point I already said that didnt I.

You would have to ask the Law Lords they requested the investigating into Whyte and his running of Rangers.

But it would appear that they think it was the actions of one man not the company. But that doesnt sit well with a lot of people.

When Nick Leeson brought Barings Bank to its knees was it the company or him that went to jail??

Sfa will not allow rfc newco into spl says Stewart Regan

So can anyone tell me why the SPL clubs are voting tomorrow? Are they talking about taking over the oldco share or direct membership skipping the divisions?

i realy resent being called a bigot because i said god save the queen, this was totaly uncalled for, calling me a rabid bigot is way out of order you dont even know me, what gives you the right to judge and make accusations about me on a forum discussing football?

Why did you say "god save the queen"(sic) if not to provoke a response? Surely the Queen is the Queen of every club in Scotland, not just Rangers?

Stop wandering off the point guys. It's irrelevant who said what to whom and it threatens to derail the thread.

There seems to be far too many threats and warnings going on at the moment. What with Green trying to threaten and coerce rangers players into staying put. Threatening to sue anyone who leaves is hardly going to engender loyalty. Likewise the SPL saying "We dont want Rangers in the SPL but you better let them in to Div 1 or else!" is hardly going to help either. It all smacks of desperation.

bank managers and accountants will be telling more than a few clubs whats the most likey out come is financially with no rangers in the spl for more than a year. the 3rd division would do me , they can keep the rest of the options.its looking like the most likely out come anyway,
i dont think even green knows what green is doing .

Motherwell fans voting 82% against newco in the SPL so add another to the list.

SFL not taking a vote until next week so back to the SPL meeting so just waiting for it to be delayed now until after the SFL meet. :o

Let's assume that the figure of £16 million is the true value of Rangers/newco not playing in the SPL.

So based on a £16 million loss the SPL offer the SFL £1 million as a sweetener to accommodate them in the 1st Division. Now with there being 30 clubs in the SFL that amounts to a whopping £30k per club. Is that really an offer that's going to make clubs sit up and take notice? Why not half their loss and offer £8 million? or accept that its better to take a single year of loss and offer the full £16 million?

Secondly if the offer isn't accepted SPL2 will be formed and clubs invited to join. What makes them think that anyone is going to accept such an offer? If the SPL really want to reach an agreement with the SFL and push for league reforming they need to listen to what the SFL clubs want and not try hardline tactics. SFL teams want larger leagues, say 18 teams. Why don't the SPL push forward with this?

The SPL was formed to keep the lions share of football money between the top teams in Scotland. Now that it's backfiring on them, after all the SPL clubs will be the ones to lose out, they still persist in making derisive offers to try and appease the smaller clubs.
