Good to see St. Mirren coming out with the facts.

I can't see the turkeys voting for Christmas today, they'll try and make someone else do the dirty work.

Question is how can the SFL clubs vote us in since we havent applied to join them yet.

COVENTRY City have completed the signing of John Fleck.

Coventry City recognised The Rangers Football Club's rights and have agreed a financial deal to sign the player that has been mutually agreed by all three parties.

Charles Green, Chief Executive of The Rangers Football Club, said: "Coventry City have acted in exactly the right way in the transfer of John Fleck to ensure that all three parties - both clubs and the player - are satisfied with the deal.

"We wish John and Coventry all the best for the new season."

According to the BBC it is a sell on clause that has been agreed, no fee involved.

Cant they vote on a hypothetical scenario? Although I do think the SPL chairman need to step up, have some baws and vote either way. Trying to ensure Newco has a spot in Div1 before they are voted out of the SPL is passing the buck big time.

Was good to hear that St Johnstone confirmed their stance to vote NO. I would expect a couple of teams to do a U-turn.

BREAKING NEWS

SPL clubs vote overwhelmingly to reject Rangers' newco application to join the top flight.

I hope they do, so looking long term. There will be too much resentment is they are allowed in Div1. Start at the bottom and work up, give the club a chance to build again. See how the "diddy" clubs get on with no big sponsorship for 3 years.

Exactly I fear there will be some shoe in into Div1 though. Let the house fall and rebuilt the whole thing.

Wouldnt be surprised if theres total restructuring next summer and as if by magic Rangers are invited to the big table again.

The Argentinian league did that a couple of years ago, River Plate (I think) got relegated after about 100yrs in the top flight.. so then Argentinian football changed the league structure/system so that River Plate could return after only a season in the 2nd tier.

SFL chief executive David Longmuir has told BBC Scotland that a decision will have to be taken over who replaces Rangers in the SPL.

"The SPL will have to create an invite for a replacement," he said.

The SFL board will meet tomorrow ahead of full meeting of clubs next week to decide if the Rangers Newco will be allowed into the Scottish League set up.

What if they decide no ?

Then Rangers and their cash have the freedom to apply to other leagues. ;)

Thing is do Rangers formally apply to join the SFL in Div 3 or just apply to join the SFL and then the SFL vote on where they go.

Or will the SFL just have 2 choices on their ballots "Div 1" or "NO"

Can't see the SFA not stepping in now to avoid the football crisis that would ensue with Rangers in Div 3.

Good to see the Chairmen sticking to their guns though despite the possible ramifications for their own clubs.

Dundee chief executive Scott Gardiner said:
"When it became clear that the Clubs of the SFL were going to be called into Hampden on 3rd July to either take a vote or as it has been put, give a steer, in advance of a vote on Rangers Football Club being admitted into either Division 1 or Division 3, I immediately called the SFL.

"The purpose of the call was to receive some guidance on whether Dundee FC would be conflicted in voting for either option as we would potentially be the direct beneficiaries of a yes vote in either case. I was very concerned that Dundee FC could be attacked or criticised for trying to influence the situation and or gain benefit for the club by voting for either option.

"The initial advice was that SFL rules clearly state that, save in extraordinary circumstances, ALL Members must vote and cannot abstain, such action would incur a heavy fine and there was an existing precedent.

"Prior to the meeting however and following discussions with the SFL Office Bearers and their legal team, we were informed that these were extraordinary circumstances and there was indeed a clear conflict of interest and it would be against natural justice for us to vote.

"We could take part in the debate but not the vote. We were the only team in Division 1 told this as no other club was conflicted."

"Now that there is to be a formal vote on these matters at Hampden on the 12th July, our technical position is clear. We do not have to abstain as we cannot vote due to the stated potential conflict of interest which would be against natural justice. This is not our choice, it is however a fact that we cannot vote.

"None of this means that we have been notified by the SPL, SFL or the SFA that our status as an SFL club has changed or is due to change because we have not.

"We do hope, however, that this situation can be addressed as quickly as possible as it is clearly and obviously a tremendous distraction for all of us at Dundee FC with the season looming larger than ever."
