Good stuff, it'll be interesting to see the October figures once they're available to see what effect the PS3 price drops have had and to see if the 360 can maintain high sales.

There are many discussions on this forum that use/quote/refer to console sales figures therefore I and I'm sure some others find it useful to have a post when the actual non predicted figures are released.

These are not typical numbers though, as the OP said its because of halo 3 there has been a spike in September.

Is not the US microsofts stronghold though, i would expect figures from europe and asia to tell a different tale.(Console sale wise).

id imagine europe/us figures will be similar, maybe not as large, but the patterns will be similar.

i dont know if the asian market is a massive fan of halo or first person shooters?

I think the PSP is going to be the big seller in Japan hardware market last month didnt it sell over 500k PSP lites in 2 weeks . Halo 3 had a good first week 60K but it will be well down the list in Japan, FF7 Crisis core sold 600-650K in September. Maybe in Europe Fifa has probably sold more than halo 3, but of course thats on more formats though.

It amazes me why people buy ps2s when they are becoming an inferior piece of kit. Mind you after saying that, the ps2 at this rate will probably last longer then the ps3 lol.

Possibly because it has the biggest and best games line up off any console out at the moment, and its also very cheap?
