LOL
Ah it's only a word and I use it all the time. Particularly to my GF, but I also tell her I'm going to push her down the stairs so you know.

Not really. If I knew someone who'd actually been raped, I wouldn't go "Pfft, that's nothing" just because it's bandied around with a different meaning in a completely unrelated situation. Just like you don't go "You've got AIDS? Lol AIDS" in real life, unless you're an utter ****.
Context is kinda crucial here.
David Haye can say whatever the **** he wants in my opinion, he's a better man than 99% of the rest of the country anyway.

Offensive and stupid.
Keep it reserved for actual rape, or examples of suitably violent abuse or damage to something.

The people that use it in everyday conversation don't have the intellectual capacity to think of another form of English to use in its place. They’re just sheep following the latest fad flock.
Agreed, along with the use Gay, in the context of being rubbish and AIDS.... well I've never understood the context of this.
Stupid and Immature IMO. I teach in a 6th for college and hear these terms used day in and day out. I'm probably naively assuming it's an age thing and they'll grow out of it when they get older as at the minute they all think it's hilarious
It's also probably a lack of vocabulary.
I use it all the time. In fact I both raped and got raped at MW2 last night.
Just like you don't go "You've got AIDS? Lol AIDS" in real life, unless you're an utter ****.

I'm sweating like a rapist with the police at the door.

Personally I use the word all the time.

So how come its ok for the word Gay to evolve from being happy to homosexual but the word is no longer allowed to evolve to a new meaning? is there a limit to the amount of times a word can change its meaning?
