The Rumour Mill, who do you want/think your club will sign/sell this summer

Saw that on Sky Sports News.

Apparantly has a £12m release clause in his contract.

on the skysports website it doesnt say anything about owen but hopefully if it says so on the tv about his clause then i think arsenal should sign him! Or maybe torres!

If rumours are to be believed, Owen is on at least £90k/week at Newcastle (some suggest he may even be on a 9-figure weekly salary). There was a big hoo-har because it meant Shearer's wage also had to be increased in line with his contract (nobody was allowed to be paid more than him).

9 = 1,00000000 = 100 million / week ... dam hes got a good deal

9 figure?

like £100m a week?! ;)

mmm enough of this 9 figure malarky lol

I would like to see the combo of Owen and Henry at Arsenal but only if the price is right, if that were to happen and we did get another decent centre back Id be one very happy Gooner!

Why wait until the world cup?
Have we never sent scouts to watch him before?
He has scored almost 100 goals over the last 3 years , has this suddenly come to our attention?
Is it suddenly a huge suprise that we need a striker for next season?

this concerns me.. if newcastle really do wait until after the world cup... then it could end our chance of landing him...

he may have a stormer of a tournament, he could be the topscorer (which is a good possibility given his scoring record) or he could end up being a top scorer and a world cup winner (maybe ott)

but who knows... but even so, the price may sudddenly increase, and obviously the better the form is over the world cup.. the more and bigger clubs will come in.

i hope newcastle get a deal done before the world cup.. even if its all on the quiet... maybe its a risk leaving that sort of player to score a bag of goals through the world cup.

what a signing he can be though, good solid young goalscorer, isnt that exactly what we are looking for now shearer has departed

Rumors are flying around that Buffon has been enquiring about a move to Milan. Aparentely he said he was 'considering' it for about a season now and that its not because of the current problems Juve are having, but because he wants a change of scenary and that he doesnt get on with Capello.
Either way, would be an excellent signing for Milan if we got him.
He is still arguably the best GK in the world in many peoples opinions, and for a GK, still quite young (27-28 isnt he?).

If Owen has a 12m clause in his contract then I think we should be in for him. The man gets goals, its that simple. He has a good understanding with Gerrard and will provide the cutting edge that we have been missing. It would be a little funny having him and Fowler back though somehow. Owen sort of forced him out and if he was to come back it might happen again, although I think Fowler is a different kind of player now to what he was when he was with us before. He's more of a 'Bergkamp' style player, linking up play than he was although still has that poachers instinct. Could work for us though.

Hopefully not, I wouldn't want Owen back.

So this morning it seems liverpool have put a big bid in for kuyt supposedly, plus a little bit of text underneath that may make a few liverpool fans happy

....Djimi Traore has been told to find another club....

Personally I would like us to be linked with anyone good other than Diarra. Same old UTD always wait till the end of August before we have a sniff at signing anyone then we pay through the nose. Pre seasons are so frustrating as a UTD Fan. Even Arsenal are strengthening. This little matter of the world cup is not a good enough excuse

/rant

Diarra is overpriced as far as I'm concerned, £20+million? Lyon you are having a laugh. I'd forget him and concentrate on Gattuso if I was Ferguson. You never know if someone would leave a club until you try. RVN doesn't look like he'll be going anywhere until after the WC so that will no doubt hold Ferguson back a bit to get another striker before the end of the summer. Right now I would be getting rid of the deadwood, ie, Fletcher, Fortune (who I think is going anyway), Silvestre, etc.

It's times like this I wish Ferguson was a little more like Wenger in the transfer market, Wenger has spotted quite a few gems recently and got them quite cheap, he keeps things hush hush until they are signed and generally keeps most Arsenal fans happy. I've always hated the way Ferguson and Man Utd have dealt with transfers, if we wait until after the WC, transfer fees will rise along with expectations for next season.

News on BBC suggests that fee agreed for Diarra between Utd & Lyon. He broke off negotiations to go and speak to Madrid

Positive note though Eidur Gudjohnsen may consider a move to UTD

I have always seen Gudjohnsen as a Utd player, I don't know why :) But he would be a good player to have, proven in the Premiership eager for more first team action. It's funny how Madrid supposedly dropped their interest in Diarra, this is probably his agent's way of getting more money out of a possible deal. Sickens. There should be a shoot to kill policy on football agents. I think it's about time Fifa stepped in and stopped this agent malarkey and start their own agency to deal with all transfers.

Souness and Jordan a dream team. I can't stand Jordon.
I quite like his attitude to the game , his feelings towards agents in particular.
His articles in the Observer are a good read.
