**The Secret World**

I'm wondering if the messeging system is a bit screwed. I'm trying to message 'TheDirtyWench' and it says no user is online, although I see you online in my friends list...

If anyone has a buddy key going i'd love one. email in trust! :D
Been tempted with this but i wanna test it before jumping in.

Given in and bought it anyway, had some spare cash on paypal after selling things on diablo 3. :p
Just gotta wait for it to download now!

Weird - I'm getting the same.

I click on your name in the friends list - click send message... type something out, send it & I get the same "no user with nick "Diamon" is online"

I've tried sending you a cabal invite

Now I've logged, I can see myself in the Cabal list, but when I try and '/cabal message' it tells me I'm not in a Cabal?!?!

Maybe I'm bugged, but I don't think anyone can say anything I chat.

If I use /petition, it tells me to check /help petition, which just says to use /peition... which tells me to check /help petition...

Also driving my crazy I can just hit / and start typing, I have to press enter and then /

This game's not impressing me at the moment

When I was standing near you & you were typing in general... I could read the speech bubbles above your head.

When trying to send you messages, I was getting the same errors... but I could type in cabal chat (by using the menu, not /cabal switch)

Been having troubles with the internet (lolO2broadband), should be in in about 40 mins or so, and I'll be making a Templar cabal. Send me a tell to my character Stanlow, and I'll invite you when I'm done.

Cabal chat is borked tonight, it's not just you.

Edit, hmm, group chat too, seems like they've mucked up chat in general.

Also, first time players, don't try to set your graphics settings based on a London start, it seems to be really badly optimised compared to the rest of the game.

I tried one of the other starter areas and I am still having major texture loading issues. I also have to reconfigure my keyboard assignments every time I start the game as it keeps as it keeps setting to default. I have also developed an issue where I can't reassign the hotkey toolbar. Just too many issues with game.

The only issue I get is what feels like a video driver lockup every now and again, it black screens for a few seconds, then reloads the environment & I'm good to go again. I have an old system mind, and it fairly regularly just hard locks up in other games anyway. I'm past caring really, in days gone by I'd have tried for days to sort it but tbh I'd rather just deal with it right now hehe.

Can't comment on the reconfigured keys, since I just use the default - maybe use that for a bit until the saving of settings is sorted? Regardless, if that's 'too many issues with the game' I'd recommend staying away from mmorpg launches :)

Does anyone have a good guide to work through? I've just figured out decks for example, but I guess I can't move some SP I've already placed in the skill wheel. Can you reset and start it again?

Also, in a video, someone had the Gearmanager as a UI, what key brings that up?

I like that you can switch between player types, but it's not as flexible as Rift as far as I can tell. In Rift you have your SP, which can be placed in a different soul for each build. In TSW from what I can see, you need to earn enough SP for each part of the wheel. In some ways it would take just as long to make a new character if the skills where all different?

No, you can't move/respec points - but they build up fast so don't worry about ones you've spent already. It's not a massive issue, if you find it is, next time you're on do a quick blast through of some high exp repeatable missions you've already done.

As for guides, have a look on the left of the skill wheel screen, there's your factions decks there, and on the right is a search function (search afflicted etc, and it'll return all thos skills). There's a great guide out there, but I'm at work & cant remember the url, so I'll drop it in later unless someone else gets there first.

Gearmanager is an option when you look at your character, C.

I think the point with the skill wheel here, is that eventually you can have everything - so you can have as many decks as you like. But in the short term, you pick some to work towards :)
