the sky tonight

Ive noticed this 3 times this evening, the first 2 i thought i was seeing things but the 3rd time i did see it.
the sky is flashing a bright white light, the whole sky lights for a split second.
im in Chester, is anyone else seeing this ?

its happened once more since OP
maybe it is some sort of lightning, but the skys are clear and the stars are out.
not a search light, and i do live about a 5 min walk from a train track
