i'm already starting to play with stuff in earnest, with steam proton and the work valve have been doing it makes it a lot more simpler these days. the drm stuff i cant think of anything im going to miss, and if i do a windows install if needed for that game.

He advised I had an old triband linksys router and this was the reason. They are sending me a new dual band router to replace it. He stated that newer devices work better with the new version of router. Let's see I guess ......

So I got the new router, it did jack all. Lan not detected and wifi speeds 10%. Reconnected the older router. Called them suggested could be an IP6 issue??
Bloke face palmed and said he agreed, didn't understand why I was sent a new router. Said Community fibre had been doing updates for the past few weeks and unfortunately every evening it was resetting the router to Ip6 "automatic" mode. It should be on "pass-through". Showed me how to change this and viola. Meta store and app all working now.
