I have an ATI - XFX 4850 XXX edition graphics card - The card is factory overclocked . . . When I go to play games though - E.g I have just tried the new crysis 2 demo - My computer crashes - Or rather the gfx crashes bringing up a gree/grey screen with vertical lines running down the middle . . . (This happens on most of the modern games I try) The only way I can stop this from happening is by "underclocking" my card - (I have to lower the memory clock setting from 1050hz down to about 960hz . . .) Why is this ?? - It works but it does reduce performance and I really want to fix this problem properly . . A solution ??

Thankyou :)

If it came factory overclocked and is still in warranty i would RMA as you have every right to

Unfortunatly the card is not legiable for an RMA now . . .

Well first problem is it's an XFX card who have possible the worst QC of any card maker. I suspect it's overheating at the non reference speed. Increase of fan speed may help. I would flash the BIOS for an unclocked version TBH.

You say something about flashing my BIOS - What does this do ? How do I go about doing it - (Sorry that might be a bit of a dumb question) haha

Thanks !
