Yeah fair bit to whole of left side
and top right corner

Off back to o2 shop tomorrow I think

It's normal for camera lenses to be softer on the edges. I've got an 800 quid lense that is at wide angle and wide open as well. You'd need to spend many thousands to get a lense that isn't. Saying that you can see the fish eye effect in action on the tin lids. I've had a few of my pictures look like that and others with no sign of it, so it's probably something to do with the aperture setting of each shot, which would make sense.

Yep, they look OK, must be the wide open aperture at low light causing the soft edges. Let's see if the new camera app sorts that. They may tweak it so aperture gets less priority over shutter and iso.

Does everyone here have the same revision of Z5 ? I will get mine tomorrow from Amazon and will be interested to know how the Camera performs

Got mine this morning, can't get comfortable with the screen compared to my S4, maybe i need more time but i will be sending it back to Amazon :(

Sharpness, colours seem to be much better on the S4, I compared videos but still does not match or better the S4 screen :(

Once you have used SAMOLED then a regular LCD, no matter how sharp, will never look as good. It's just the nature of the tech, and SAMOLED is like a balm on your eyeballs, no eye strain and amazing blacks and depth of colour.

well had a long day to take some photos, get used to the screen but i am not convinced at all, this review pretty much sum's up how i feel :(

The phone has launched at a funny time I think. The proper camera app for it isn't quite ready and Marshmallow is a month or so away as well. Makes me wonder if more effort is being expended on the new software instead of what it has now.

With a touch of luck Sony is focusing on the new stuff instead of the old.

Depends if the fault is software(fixable) or hardware (replacement)

As for the camera on Z5 if it is faulty due to hardware early adopters will be reaching there 30 day return limit soon

It isn't, I can reproduce the issue now.

When the cameras aperture is wide open, there's a blur introduced due to normal lense fish eye effect. If the camera isn't dead straight on with the subject it will show blur one side of the lense or other.

Should be correctable in software as that's what most cameras do. The Z5 is using a temp camera app which hasn't been designed for that specific lense so I'm assuming that they won't bother until the new one is out shortly.

Always amuses me when a certain member is constantly scouring the forums waiting to jump down the throat of anyone who dares to criticise a hardware manufacturer.
We all get our kicks in different ways I guess!
