The State of Our Society

I fail to see what him lying on his baby has got to do with his social class or the way in which he conducts his life. I only glimpsed at this article on the news, but I don't think it said he was high (I'm happy to be corrected on this if I'm wrong). The article said he had traces of weed in his system, which if I remember correctly remain for a while after smoking it. Maybe he's the worst citizen in the country, but using this tragic accident to attack him is borderline sick in my opinion.

Also, I don't think there are many parents out there that can say they have never fell asleep with their child. As much as I know it's not advised and try to avoid it, after four children I can say that I've done it many times. I would like to think that if the worst happened during on of these occasions that I wouldn't then be subjected to a nationwide slagging session.

It isn't singular... these are just the cases we are hearing about too often. Baby P for example, Victoria Climbie and the recent witch killing crap.

So abes its not a singular case... its actually happening far more than what is actually published. Teenage mums aren't a single problem... there's near 40,000 of them who later after 18 go on to have 3 and 4 other children often by several different "men" who all contribute to failing the child.

You've only got to look at some of the replies here, alas the post after yours to see that people are aware it isn't just a one off.

For those with a short attention span, this maybe not for you.

But all is well, same as society was falling to bits when the world suddenly became round. There is more good in the world than bad. As the video explains in the begining. Your mind is programmed to look at bad news more closely than good news. (a throwback from a chap in a cave came home running with his arm off and being raveged by 6 foot tall amazon women, ooops wrong thread, i mean sabre tooth tigers.) Hence why papers always look for bad news as it sells.....

Unemployed, druggie, left school early, had a child at 17, scumbag girlfriend... What a surprise.

Too many people in the world like that.

Maybe they didn't have the priviledged upbringing you had.

God, can't believe I'M the one saying this. What's happening Pate?!

What i cannot stand, absolutely detest and witness all too often, are people who just repeatedly swear for no good reason when in casual conversation with other people. For instance, you will be in the town centre, and 2 blokes walk past, one saying to other 'what was that ****** bird sayin the otha nite ey', then the other '**** if i know mate, some **** about some **** or de otha, i was like ****' followed by 'yeah **** i know what you mean, hah lets go get some **** now bruv' etc etc etc.

Its like working class++, trying extra hard to be that little bit more Common

Town centre, there are kids around for God's sake. Wtf is wrong with these people (irony intended)

Damnit, you're only going to say I'm conceding on my "context" comment, but how the hell does a guy who fell asleep with his child equate to someone smashing tiles over a kid's head and drowning him?

More-so, what does "witch killing crap" have to do with 18 year olds having 3 or 4 children. What the hell is the point you're trying to make here? The "Witchcraft" kid wasn't even their child.

So we are now at a point in society where the Chav generation are having kids.

You think 'chavvy' behaviour has only come about in the last decade or two?

There's no such thing as the 'chav generation'. 'Chav' is just a new word for a sub-section of society which has always existed.

So what did National Service do for you then? What was your experience? How has it made you the person you are today? Was it during National Service you gained your perception skills or was that somewhere else?

So what would YOU suggest for the Jeremy Kyle generation? No social skills , No work ethic , a benefits culture. Whatever it is , it's failed because everyone is too soft with these pathetic human beings.

They need a right good kick up the backside. Not molly-coddled like all you do-gooders seem to be doing.

So would you make everyone of a certain generation do national service? Well, I'm probably part of what you'd call the 'Jeremy Kyle generation'. I've never lived off benefits, impregnated a teenage girl or been in front of a judge... I'm in postgraduate education and have a reasonably decent job lined up. Would you make me do national service? I don't see why I should have to participate in some bizarre ritual of over-compensation for the misdemeanours of a small number of people. Besides, I'd be rubbish at it.

Or would you be more selective in who you subject to national service? In that case, how would you choose? No-gooders don't have the word 'chav' tattooed on their backsides...
