The Sunday Times is calling for owners of 100k mile cars

Yikes, that is good. Have you owned it for the entire 190?

I always worry about my engine (mainly due to my driving), but the body work will probably fail long before the engine.

As much as I hate to admit it, my French cars have all broken the 100k mark with no trouble at all, the little 1.4 306 is on 140k now without anything going wrong.

Saying that the Mk1 Octavia vRS did it's 100k in far better comfort and no problems again, and that's with 240bhp not the standard 180bhp.

I've revised my strategy for the wifes car, pick up something circa 40k and flog it before 80/90k she ruins cars and has no mechanical sympathy, her zafira has been a money pit now on 130k

I had two 100k+ mile French cars - one was on 228K when I sold it, the other was on 118K. I know in general French electrics are awful but I didn't have many problems with either car really, certainly nothing unexpected due to age and mileage.

My half million mile 406 says buy French.

Impressive on both accounts, I have a 206 thats currently running at 107,000 but I had the engine rebuilt (due to the turbo cracking) so the engine is pretty much brand new now.

I also randomly get the airbag lights flashing, the only way I've found to stop this is to turn the engine off and on again (hey who knew it worked with cars too) lol

Running a 100k plus car is no big deal these days.

It's not the remotest bit challenging.

I would agree with that. My car is currently on 108k and only a major change in my usage is causing me to think of changing it but the article is about buying 100k plus cars which IMO is a different thing.

I guess it depends on your usage and buying pattern. I want to get a minimum of 60k out of my cars before I move them on. While I'm happy to go past the 100k marker I'm not sure I'd be as happy buying a car at or past that point.
