The "Top Gear", Season 24/25/26 thread

the giulia in top spec does look utterly gorgeous , when you get down to the lower specs it may not be as glamorous, a bit like the jag xe and it hilariously tiny wheels on some of them I have seen

it was ok, the only thing that was really stupid was driving the Supercars in deep snow, as if you'd ever do that.
it isn't as good as Clarkson and his mates, but then again........... it never will be !

i was surprised to see them doing 80mph down a mountain with their engines off, that mountain must have been much steeper than it looked on TV

There was several cuts to keep the segment for each race concise - if you watched the entire 2+ minutes for each one it would make more sense.

Two episodes in and I'm really enjoying what they've done with the show. Dare I say it, better than many of the Clarkson trio era episodes.

I also like the new celebrity bit but agree that the Harris nagging is a bit much. If they could get some proper car enthusiasts on there then that would be an excellent segment. As it is I find it hard to find it amusing that the celebrity manages to get in trouble with the law or that they smack up their car if it makes it easier to get into a parking space.

Was at the filming for the third episode yesterday. I'm a few rows back behind LeBlanc and could see the camera for most of it, so keep an eye out for my ugly mug!

Also most likely a lot of cuts to swap drivers, as I would not be surprised if a lot that downhill section and the whole snow part was shot with stunt drivers.

Matt Le Blanc has freely admitted he often uses stunt drivers for things he does not feel comfortable with, and also the insurance companies often insist on it.

He told Radio Times: ‘I’m not going to pretend I do all my own stunts. I do as much as I’m comfortable with.

‘When it gets really crazy, I have a stunt driver. That’s no secret. Insurance companies are involved. If something calls for real precision driving, I let someone else do it.’

The insurance for Matt must be hilariously high - Chris seems to do a good bit of his own driving though - might explain the big difference in the downhill times if Matt was swapped out for a professional driver but Chris did it himself.

While it was just a bit of fun I wonder if Harris, being the better driver of the two, struggled more with not being able to drive in the 'slow in, fast out' style that is usually quickest.

just watched last nights episode.

considering last week i turned of at 50 mins, this week was much better, really enjoyed it and i found the chemistry funny.

Chemistry is exactly that, something over a bit of time and this will take time.

Just caught up with both episodes. 1st was ok but the second was much more enjoyable. Studio segments feel a little forced but I am willing to give it time.

I loved the Alfa section. CH doing what CH does best. Oh and I want the Alfa so bad now!

I havent watched the last few grand tour eps but honestly think maybe this last episode was better.

People keep going on about the old 3s chemistry, which yes has been there, but I cant see it on the grand tour! All feels very wooden and awkward to me.

Liked the Alfa review. But I like Chris Harris when he gets in a car.

Still don't like the studio bits.

The Porsche/Lambo bit was quite fun.

It's a good time waster for the commute to/from work. The filming is still great.

Still no chemistry and feels awkward, but I'm sure they will relax into it and so I'm not going to give them a hard time. Even LeBlanc seems a bit stiff/wooden - I just wish the BBC would let them be themselves.

The Chris Harris lambasting of the celebs is a little bit cringe-worthy though.
