The trip of a lifetime

Was that Antartica then, or near (looking at the penguins)?

The horizon is a bit off in a couple of the pics, but maybe you were on a boat at the time.

Nothing a bit of straightening in Photoshop wouldn't sort out.
I'm forever taking pics, even on steady ground, with the horizon lopsided.
I've got a stack of pics I need to straighten in Photoshop.

The pics are great though. Looks like my kind of trip ;)
 
the Antarctic Peninsular it was -Mid Feb meant Mid summer there so it was above freezing - just lots of Penguins ,trips in little rubber boats hence wobbly horizons but a great 17 days aboard the Marco Polo.
Come July my daughter and I are off once more on the Marco Polo doing the Top end this time - Norway/Fa oes/Iceland
The hot lager soaked sandy bits full of ruins in the middle of this planet don't interest us one iota.

I've done Iceland. Went on the Fire & Ice & Whalewatching trip. Well impressive. I want to do the Norway cruise where you get to stay a night in an Ice Hotel.

All shots were natural -just a UV filter on the Olympus E10
However on reflection that frame I did mess with using 'Painterly' or similar in PSP9
That being said it is truly amazing the colours that come from the ice - it is not all just white, The old ice [1000 of years old some times]is blue - the older it is the bluer it gets- sometihng to do with the compreession forces over the ages, I seem to recall

Next trip ,have a Kokin set from my old film set up that fits the Olympus E300

Whether or not the opportunity to fiddle around with them is another story- we shall have wait and see
