Title says it all.

Yet another interest rate rise, ridiclous prices with everything, Eastern Europeans flooding the country and all this Islamic rubbish.

I remember (and I'm only 30) that this country of ours used to be great, I was proud to say I was English. Apparently, I'm not English anymore, I'm British. Kids running riot, schools not caring. Theres no freedom of speech, I'm not allowed to truely allowed to express myself when it comes to people/colour/race/creeds. The compensation culture, the fact that every other advert on daytime TV is for a loan, and the draconian banks. Bureaucrats and red tapes stop us progressing. Get Labour out. My daughter is too worried to take her IPOD to school in case it gets nicked. She doesnt feel safe walking through the park. She's 12 years old. I have a 8 month old here aswell, and I wonder what it will be like when she is 12.

I am an optimist, but I am finding it increasingly difficult living here.

Plus, I have also found out that 2 nonces have been housed in our street, and on my street is a junior school and 2 nurseries ! Someone somewhere thought long and hard about that one!

you forgot to mention the good things! like chav culture , binge drinking and teenage pregnancy.

honestly can't wait to leave tbh. hoping to do it later this year actually. :)

Also, cant wait to leave. After ive done Uni, probably migrate to Oz or Europe. Being British today means nothing anymore. 'Great' Britain? BS i say.

Ah yes, those great things that sum up the English (sorry, PC is British)

I blame the Spice Girls for binge drinking! :) I also blame that idiot Micheal whatever his name is for winning the lottery and making Chav's look cool. And teenage pregnancy, well, you gotta blame the parents. My daughters will never come home pregnant at 16. I would smash her to within inches of death. I encourage the 'live life a little' attitude, theres absoutely nothing to gain by getting preggers so young. When will these stupid teenagers realise this ? It isnt cool...

Wow, you sound like a really great father. It's a shame there aren't more like you - then Britain would be great again!

I agree with more or less everything, i don't think labour being replaced by the conservs would make a difference, its all down to parenting, standards, and policing.

I feel like your daughter, i was done over 18-19 months and haven't been the same since. I just don't feel safe, I try and live my life like a decent human being and get nothing back for it, in fact I have more taxes taken.

I was sat on the bus last night and the drive got stabbed in the arm by some hoody ***** for the cash box.......I'm in full agreement with you.

well to be fair discipline is what is lacking in this country. though i admit 'smashing within inches of death' might be a little harsh. :D

Once I have done all the certifications I want and have sorted out a house I'm making plans... probably won't be for a few years but my idea is to keep a house here and rent it out while I work elsewhere.

Haha, what a t(r)oll :p Ofcourse, all children think getting pregant gets you on the SUPER HIGHWAY to COOL! Nothing to do with a split condom or anything like that! ;)

Although why on earth would you let a 12 year old take an iPod to school? Sounds a bit careless in its own right!

Funny how I seem to be thinking exactly the opposite about UK nowadays. Done my GCSEs, passed A levels and now about to be offered a nice stable job to work for a housing group and then will do a part time job at a bar during nights. Life never looked sweeter to me.

ah how good it would be to be young and naive again *sigh*.

Everynow and then this sort of thread crops up...Hmmm i think this country is great regardless of what people say.

lol yeah i think he was exagerating. if you ask me we need to bring back the cane in schools. kids now-a-days think they can get away with anything because teachers have no power to dicipline them also if they mug someone they hardly ever get caught so they might as well - even if they do get caught it is a few hours community service.

i am only 20 and i am considering moving out of this hell hole. i remember when i used to play on the street with my friends on our bikes, we did things like have a tea and scones evening for a blue peter charity thing and generally were nice to people while having fun. now the kids who live around this area are just black rudes who think they rule the world - i mean ffs screaming and shouting at 1am.

also we just have a government that does not know how to solve problems, they just throw money at it and hope it solves itself. idiots, they all need to be shot.

I have slapped her once in 12 years. And I would do it again if i was warrented.

I am a very good Dad. We have good standards and morals in this house. She knows her P's and Q's and could have tea with the Queen. thats the way I was brought up. She is the most balanced and respectful 12 year old around. She will aspire to great things. But she knows if she messes up, she will be punished accordinally.

Example - She forged a signature in her homework diary recently. She though it was very funny, she was upto mischief and wanted to see how long it took me to realise! I wrote in the following weeks entry that as she thought it was so funny, then I thought it would be just as funny for her to have a detention for her 'crime.' Her teacher on the other hand disagreed! I went to see him to ask him to explain. He told me that it was a psychological punishment, and the school dont condone that type of punishment !

So...I removed her PC fom her room for 1 week. Worked a treat, she wont do that again.
