The Upgrade: All out on X79 with 3930K

You have the bclk at 125? That may cause you problems very soon.

Why not just use the multiplier all the way up to 45 instead?

Won't cause any issues as far as i can see, in fact 45x100 was unstable with the same voltages. The bootstrap function works perfectly fine on SB-E (2011), unlocked and adjustable unlike what you see on SB (1155).

Are your voltages set to AUTO? If so I would suggest doing them manually as the ASUS boards tend to pump in more voltage than needed.

Not all of them. VCORE, PLL and DRAM are set specifically, LLC is set to High and everything else is auto.

Tackled the RAM today, will leave it at 2000MHz @ 9-10-10-24-124 1T @1.55v for now but will be able to get either less voltage or tighter timings, but will come back to that after I've got 4.6GHz on the CPU :)

I bought the exact same set-up as you bar 256 Sandisk SSD and GTX 670 on the weekend, searched Asus X79 Sabertooth on the forum to see what others have to say and found this :O, Will be robbing some settings I see :D

81 degrees, isnt that a bit too much?? My 2700k on 5.0ghz never hit more than 72 and I have core temp shut down on 78.

Very nice rig btw

81 is the absolute max I would be ok stressing at (TjMax -10c). However, it's a lot cooler now at 4.5GHz running IBT is mid 70s which in Prime would equate to low 70s/high 60s
