So I'm a bit bored of my Vision Spinner now and I want to take the leap into 'real' vaping but I want to do it on a budget. I don't think I'm prepared to start making my own coils and all that jazz, so could anyone please recommend a good setup, preferably with easily readily available compatible coils?

Budget is coming in at around £75 tops including battery etc.

VTC Mini and Uwell Crown tank, the Mini seams popular, uses replaceable 18650 and has pass through charging, plus supports multiple wire types for temp control, the Crown tank comes with both Stainless Steel Coils and an Ni200, both can be used in Tc mode and the SS can be used in power mode too, its a top filler and great for flavour.

I'll give it a look over, thanks dude :)

Just thrown 3 freshly charged HE4's, albeit not paired - I'll get a paired set tomorrow - into the RX200, straight in, SS temp mode on my crius build, vapes perfectly, menus are a little tricky to navigate but I'll get used to it.

The weight of this thing is absolutely astonishing :o

Thanks for the wrapz link too, I'll have a look and get something ordered :)

Bought another one for the other half! Brilliant devices :)

I did read through the actual regs the other day, can't say i'm that sure on the interpretation.

No tanks to be sold that hold more than 2ml

-I understood this to only apply to cartomisers (ie non refillable) devices that the refill cartridge couldnt be more than 2ml

No tanks to be sold that don't adhere to the new leak-free filling rules

-didn't see that bit of it?

Liquid cannot be more than 20mg/ml

-apart from home mixing (which has its own limits already on strength for the concentrate) this does make sense, 18 is strong enough. Besides i'm sure "industrial" nicotine will still be available in the same way it is today.

Liquid cannot be sold in bottles larger than 10ml

-annoying, but makes sense from the nanny state "think of the children" approach to preventing too much poisoning from kids drinking it.

Liquid bottles must have child-proof caps
-pretty much all the ones i've encountered already do.

E-cigs must carry warnings that they are not to be used by non-smokers and that they contain highly addictive substances
-so the same kind of warnings smokers have been ignoring for years.

E-cigs must provide a consistent / regulated amount of nicotine (no devices on the market at the moment can do this)

- i understood this to mean that the liquid had to give off the same amount of nicotine for a given draw/tank combo, obviously longer draws, higher wattage and low ohm coils will affect that.

In other words a 2s draw from a freshly filled tank has the same nicotine amount as a 2s draw from that same tank when its been used to near empty (ie the liquid can't concentrate/dilute in strength due to use)

Manufacturers must submit information on every device / variation of device and flavour they wish to sell. This must include toxicology information, nicotine dosage, and other stuff

-yep, i understood this to mean ingredient information listed as it is on food (ingredients but not nessecarily specific amounts) as well as actual lab testing of the stuff before it gets sold (so the official oversight this industry needs for safety).

Not entirely sure how they plan on testing just the device if it's not one that comes with its own brand of juice, unless they just test it with a common reference sample to make sure it doesn't do anything wacky like boil off pg to make more concentrated nicotine, or explode or something.

Together these will mean that pretty much everything we buy at the moment will be prohibited from sale. Vaping will go underground though with devices sold as torch batteries (510 connection torch bulbs are already available), atomisers sold as air fresheners or something similar, etc etc.

It's not the end of the world for us existing vapers but it will put significant barriers in the way of new vapers, which is a shame.

I guess as much as it might look like i'm arguing some of those points (again that's just my interpretation from having read through the regs) i'm agreeding it's the interpretation by the government is the big one.

Some stuff is good like the listing of ingredients, child proof caps, warnings and industry testing.

Some stuff is suspect like the 24mg limit if applied incorrectly (not sure if that'll kill home mixing or not)

Some stuff is a bit bonkers like the 10ml bottle limit (because that'll just be a waste of packaging if you just end up buying bottles by the hundred).

Guess we'll just have to wait and see how its taxed, sorry did i say taxed? I meant implemented.

I got a couple of bottles of their menthol before Xmas when they did 75% off (£6 for 100mm, so figured it was worth a punt), delivered within a few days, come in glass bottles (with a terrible dripper).

It's not bad, but more minty than menthol, so not really my cup of tea - going to try mixing in some menthol crystals and see if I can perk it up. Probably won't use again.

Quick question guys. I was treated to a Vapor flask for Chrimbo and only have 21865 LG batteries. It states to use 18650 batteries, will I be ok with the one's I have?

If you mean LG DBHE21865, then they are 2500mAh 18650's, rated to 20A continuous and 35A Pulse, if its the DNA40 Flask then they are great, if its for the new SX350J then it uses them in series, you can use them but dont go silly on power.

Cheers Tweak and that's what they are and it is the DNA40 flask :) I make my own juices, I make my own coils, I build water cooled PC's but give me a battery and I have no idea at all :D

There are very few 18650's that will fit in the DNA Flask, VTC3/4/5, LG HE2/4 and Samsung 25R's, not sure about newer cells as i sold my flask a while ago, the DNA40 Flask uses batteries in Parallel so you are safe with 20A cells :)
The batteries need to be under 18.4mm in diameter to fit otherwise they are too tight.

These slotted in with ease thanks and I have just ordered 4 more from Torchy to keep me going. I have the Vaporshark DNA 40 as well which has been fantastic and a single 21865 LG lasts 2 full days (ish).

Thanks for the info.

Great stuff. I am the worlds worst for remembering to charge things up so hopefully will be sorted for some time now :)

Changing the subject, anyone tried the new vaporesso tank? I am tempted to treat myself to one and like the idea of the clean taste from using the ceramic coils.

I hear good things about it Greg, but I'm going to wait, when something new like this pops up, something far superior from someone else will no doubt be around the corner.

If you're after a new tank to play with try the crius v3 and grab some stainless wire ;)

I have more tanks than America Paul lol but like the idea of that tank and yer, someone else will come up with a replica of sorts, so will wait it out.

The OBS Crius is a great tank... However... it has QC issues, i have 3 and 3 spare decks and two have cracked insulators, the airflow and juice control rings are not the same tension on each tank and though they go great with SS wire coils, the tank can prove to be flaky if you use SS wire and TC mode, sometimes they wont fire in TC and then suddenly start working great or vice versa.

But in TC or Power mode, if wicked right, they can handle big power and give great flavour and clouds and are easy to build on.
