Out of 5 Pre Punched Boge Carto's for my DCT 3 provided me a horrific burnt taste instantly (standard voltage to start with) Prefer a working one over a Pre Punched DC anyone know a decent place to get them from where they arn't sending out dodgy batches?

I'm going to be ordering soon. Can I ask you where you got the dodgy ones from?

Happy with DC's but running them at 4.2V on a 1000Mah last's me a day sometimes slightly shorter, but with the Boge (Single Coil) just feels such a smoother draw feels like the power is more adequate and battery lasts a fair whilst longer, you'll have to let me know how you get on and where you purchase them from mate.

Thanks Gilbert,
I was planning to buy them from Vapingthings:

http://www.vapingthings.com/BOGE_510_CARTOMISERS_-_5_PACK/p1311952_6344828.aspx

Will let you know what they're like when my Vamo and X8 get here which will probably be a week or two. Not sure which to go for though, standard or low resistance. I've been told that the SR last a little longer and that the resistance doesn't really matter when it's used on a VV device. What would you recommend?

No worries Hamster,

Will keep a look out to see how you go on.

Well highest Resistance I have had is 2.8 and stook with 2.4 for a week or so but generally I prefer LR (1.5Ohm) Carto's are standard for me within a tank, Due to vaping low nicotine liquid (8MG) I prefer LR as I can get that heat and throat hit running at lower voltages 4/4.2.

But maybe would be worth getting an opinion from a more expereienced vapour, plenty say different E Liquid flavours perform better at high resistance with higher voltage, reason being certain flavours, mix ratio's such a PG/VG but again down to preference I think!

I can't get any with any 50/50 sweet juices gives me a dry throat hit and makes me cough or get a soar throat, so I tend to just hammer menthol on a LR and with my Ego VV suits me down to the ground.

Edit: Higher Res Carto's may last longer but still 2.4 for example is quite low res, I never get a burnt taste and just get abit paranoid when to stick a new one in, taste/vapour all in my head I think. But also higher res no doubt higher voltage? So surely the life span would even out.

Don't quote me on that!

Well, I did it.....

Just ordered a SS Vamo, Kanger Protank some 18350 batteries (I have a charger already and some 18650's for my torch) and a few other bits to play with. :o

Along with some GVC, and another batch from Simon!

Thats it, i promise, I'm not spending anymore.....! :D

You wont regret any of those purchases i can assure you, and i think you will find you will prefer the Vamo in 18350 mode, as its a beast in 18650 with a protank on top, as long as you have more than 1 18350 you will be fine, i have 6 of them in rotation - As for the GVC im sure you will like it, my tip is start at the very low end of the VV or VW range and spend 5 minutes vaping it, then move up, you will soon find the sweet spot which works for you.

I hope so! :D

I got two 18350's and two more (i already have 2 along with a XTAR charger) 18650's on order with the Vamo.

On another subject, I find the CE5's can taste burned after a while, like when I've been sat here vaping for a few minutes and it starts to get a little warm. I'm using a combo of 1.8 and 2.4 ohm heads on a Ego T Battery.

Is that normal or am i doing something wrong!? I know its not the heads as I've changed them this weekend...

Thanks. I think I'll probably order a mixture of LR and SR heads and see how I get on with them. Still being very new to vaping, I need to experiment a lot and see what works best for me. I've been using much higher nicotine (24mg) and am starting to buy 18mg but I'm still using my ego with CE5 clearos. Apart from changing the heads to LR or getting a VV battery, there's not much tweaking I can do with that. Looks like a lot more fun to be had with the Vamo.

I get a similar thing with the CE5. I usually take no more than 4 hits then put it down for a while. You can feel the driptip getting warmer with each hit and I find if I try and toot any more than that, I get a similar burnt taste. It's not that bad and I find it's more noticeable with different juices. With strawberry or apple, because the scent is quite light, it's more noticeable but with RY4 or Hot Cinnamon, I don't feel it as much as the flavours are stronger.

Thats effectively it not wicking enough to keep up with the vaping, the wick is drying out before it can replenish, take it a bit slower and it should be ok, if it drys out too often though it can tarnish the taste of the heads/atomiser

Edit - Combat Fighter, will you please answer the trust email i sent you on Saturday regarding the RSST you sent back to me, which isnt actually mine, i did mark each part, which seems you saw as the base plate is mine with the K scribed in, but everything else is from your RSST the 1.5mm top cap mine was drilled to 1.2, top deck has no marks, mine has a mark at 12 and 6 under the neg screw, and even the center pin and stock insulators despite me sending you a silicone one for yours.
Also the top cap being overly wobbly I fixed on my top deck by adding a slightly thicker oring.

Yeah I think that may be it....

I did read after posting that above that the rubber cap can sometimes pinch the wick and not let it wick up quick enough. some recommend cutting a little bit off the bottom of the cap to fix this.... Might try it....

In other news. I just got my Vamo etc! Ordered from Vape Escape in the end as they had everything i needed, Yes i know i could have got it cheaper from China or whatever, but I'm still not convinced they aren't a cheap copy as they seem just too cheap.

Had the foresight to bring my XTAR charger to work so i can charge the batt's before going home! :D

EDIT: Bugger, My charger (XTAR WP2 II) need spacers to charge 18350's and i have a horrible feeling i threw them out ages ago when i had a good clean out....! Didn't think of that...! lol Oh well the '650's are on as i type.

Vamo looks nice. Its actually smaller than i was expecting!

Ok, so the Vamo is awesome. :D

That and the Protank not only look great but makes the juice taste much better.

Out of interest, I'm running it on Watt's mode at the mo (Set on NO2) at about 7w, it says the head is rated at 2 Ohms. Is that about right?

Im happy to see your happy with it, its a slippery slope from here on in :( lol

But yea it sounds about right, theres no real set value that works for everyone, if it works for you then its spot on :) and good job checking the NO1/NO2 mode, a lot of people forget or dont know about it, if you ever want to see the difference, go back to VV and set it to 3.7v on NO2 have a few vapes, then switch to NO1 and set voltage to 3.7 again, you will notice a drastic difference in terms of what it delivers.

I tend to vape at 10w, but it's just preference. The hotter you go, the more likely you are to run into wicking issues so if you are happy at 7 then rock on.

Well I soon found yesterday with the protank, much higher than 7.5-8w and it soon starts tasting like its getting burnt, or the wicks burning (that classic CE5 taste as i call it. :D )

Thats with the 50/50 12mg juice from Simon (The guy Scorch put me in touch with) if it makes a difference.

Also, the look on my girlfriends face when i showed her the Vamo was most entertaining! Yet when she tried it she was most impressed. (shes a cig-a-like fan....:p

What sort of other tanks etc are a good mix with the Vamo? I've got a Vivi Nova (this one) that i will try and a load of CE5's. What about things like the EVOD, T2's, T3's? Any of them worth a go?

I like the Evods, but to use them on the Vamo you need a 510 to Ego adapter, aside from that just about everything will go on it and work just as well as any other, thats the beauty about a VV/VW device.

the protank for me is very pleasing to he eye but i dont reckon much to the vape its too harsh even on lowest setting. i only really use and enjoy it when im drunk.

Cheers Wazz-1 - looks awesome, will probably leave it in a plain finish to go with my nice plain steel ego-t :)

Starting to build up my collection!

You're very welcome, glad you like it, given mine a little make over to match the razer combo:D

Also a little mod on the base to hold it better(it was an after thought) had to stick it on with plastic metal hence the paint job.
A couple of mates have asked for one, but no material left and I have my Poldiac at work waiting for some attention, so little time at the moment for mods but i'll get there in the end!

Can anyone help me find a cheaper, compatible version of this cartomiser by Socialites?
My best mate has given me his e-cig, since he's moved on to their "tank". I don't mind using it for now as it will allow me to quit the analogues sooner. I'm after cheap, med nicotine replacement and apple/menthol flavours, but not sure which will be suitable.
It's only a stopgap until I can place the order on my Vamo...
