The "what do you think of Pink Floyd?" thread

Great band for what they did but still a bit overrated. There are great bands around now that have cited them as influence that I prefer!

Suppose I just wasn't around in their time.

Huh?

Syd left and Dave Gilmour joined, then twenty years later they split and reformed minus Waters. That's hardly 'many lineups' :confused:
 
I love Meddle, and DSOTM.

The Wall has its moments, and so does Atom Heart Mother and Wish You Were Here.

Not really a fan of the others!

I went to a Waters gig a few years back and thought we were lucky when Nick Mason turned up! They performed the whole of Dark Side, it was amazing.

Pretty gutted I missed the 3 of them together, but I am glad it was done without promoting it as a 'reunion' gig. I hold an optimistic opinion that this won't be the last time though, if Gilmour and Waters have worked it out then there is no reason for them not to do more gigs as they still both regularly perform anyway?
 
Love Pink Floyd.

Saw Waters at Glasto and Gilmour came on then, was a magical experience :)

The Wall has to be my all time favourite of theirs, but I'm a sucker for concept albums, which is why Joe's Garage by Frank Zappa is my No.1 album of all time :)
