The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

This is driving me mad!... Does anyone else find that after the coronation, the background music in Skellige becomes far, far too loud? I can't hear a word any character says any more!

OMFG YES! Also during the quest when you go into the sewers with Triss. During the speech the music is over powering. I replied that part at 10% music and it was still loud.

You can change the difficulty in game under game settings. Although I loved starting my second playthrough on Death March.

I know but ide rather start over on a higher setting so ive gone through the game at that lvl.

Ive restarted anyway and its already slightly more of a challenge which i prefer not far off killing the griffin now.

the witcher 3 is a game that as soon as you sink some time into you realise this is probabily one of the best games you have ever played and you dont want it to end so you end up making reasons to restart the game or explore every nook and cranny to get everything out of it.

need the big DLC soon

Chisharpe sums it up well. After finishing the game I replayed the Witcher 2 on Dark difficulty, then imported and I'm replaying the Witcher 3 on Death March from the start this time.

I'm still finding things I never did in my first play though.
Hell, I ended up in prison with a death sentence last night!

It is a game with a stunning and ornate world(s) to run around in, excellent narrative and characters....

.....and mediocre-average everything else.

Fact is, Witcher 2 was a better game than Witcher 3.

CDPR strong point is in their story telling, a free roaming RPG needs to have other qualities which Witcher 3 doesn't really have.....mind you, Skyrim didn't have them either yet that game was 'great', apparently.

There is a bug that occurs after the Skellige coronation.....I never had a problem with the music going too loud, but with the music turning off whenever a save game was loaded. The music will revert to normal behaviour after fast travelling to Skellige and back...or after entering a sewer.

I wish I could get this to turn off permanently. (let the the last few seconds of the previous track end before being greeted with the worst most repetitve and annoying music not just in The Witcher 3, but in any video game, ever)

it does my fkn nut in.

Just done the Cat&Wolf quest. It was pretty good.

Question about Priscilla-

So the whole quest where she is attacked is nonsense and makes very little sense, but is there any kind of aftermath?...I just returned to Novigrad after the battle of Kaer Morhen, and she is still in bed saying the same stuff and Dandellion is happy as Larry and doesn't even mention her!

I was expecting something to happen, not for the whole thing to just be dropped, or have I missed something? I really believe that the further you get in to the game, it is like the less care was put in to it. If this had happened earlier in the game, there would be a lot more reaction to this.

I agree, completely. CD Project did they they'll be working on parts, even the likes of Triss which only says "Well?" after a certain point

I hope the go and sort all this out, there is so much attention to detail in parts, and then with others it just felt like they forgot about it.

Here you lot are finishing the game and I'm closing in on 110hours at Lv21 and I'm no where near the sodding end despite playing the game from day 1!

Not so! 96 hours in, level 19 and still questing in Velen/Novigrad. Got a few low level quests in Skellige to jump to before I continue with the main story. Still lots to do in Velen first.

I see it that I'll only play the game once, maybe twice, so I'll make the most of it. Playing since it first came out :)

Not sure how many other people have done this; but I was wondering why I wasn't doing much damage to humans, only to discover I still had equipped the blunt wooden sword I used for a Dandelion quest. Doh!

The general consensus seems to be that this game is pretty damn good and one of the best of the generation so far, but I didn't like Witcher 2 at all, so am I unlikely to get much out of 3?

For those that have completed the game regarding the "good ending"

so, Ciri goes through the tower to combat the "White Frost". You don't get to see all that much, she wonders off into the snow. Then, straight away I find Geralt in an inn chatting with Yen and then he wonders off to spend some time with Ciri. All like the White Frost thing never happened.

Looking around on the net and people say that she just beats the White Frost and there is nothing to really see. Anyone else find it odd?

I've discovered that fist fighting is so much easier if you actually block and counter, rather than trying to dodge all the time.

Georgus George in Novigrad made me experiment with different things, Jesus he was hard without blocking and countering!

Don't suck in all the hype.

Witcher 3 is a fantastic technical accomplisment but just a good game, and nothing more than that.

As in Witcher 2, Witcher 3's strongest points are in it's character's and story telling....and of course, Witcher 3 offers a vast and stunning open world to run around in, whereas Witcher 2 was very limited....

....but if you didn't like Witcher 2, then Witcher 3 may not be for you. I loved Witcher 2, and have had a lot of enjoyment from Witcher 3....but I don't find it an amazing game or anything.....although I do find the graphics amazing.

I am going to have to disagree with you there MatTheCat :), no game is perfect ofc but I personally think this game deserves all the hype it is getting. I would rate this a 10/10 game even with the flaws it does have.

I think last year my game of the year was probably either Dragon Age or Divinity OS. TW3 is better than both. I'd be surprised if it's not my game of the year for 2015, though Fallout 4 is going to give it a good fight, no doubt.

Yes it has issues, it's a little clunky, igniting things everytime you try to push a button or speak to someone, crafting could be much better, i'd like more Gwent tournamanets etc. But, I'm ready for the exspanions and will happily buy on day 1. Despite the issues, I loved every minute of it.
