There are 1.3 million (at least) people still playing CS??

I started playing cs back in the alpha stages! was AWESOME! Still annoys me to this day that they removed the scope on the m4 haha. Greatest gun ever! If you were ever into your clans, my friend was one of the original [4K] member who actually set the clan up before they started the whole lan scene, even now if i ask him he will say "the online team were FAR better than the lan team". I go on it now and again, but its very shocking how fast the game is! You'd think its like riding a bike, but it would take months just to get back into the swing of things. I do miss the whole clan games and going on irc every night haha.
 
No doubt Valve will eventually update the franchise with a new version. There is simply too much money to be made that they will not pass it up.
 
I play Source all of the time, the only game I really play from the 166 games I have on Steam. - I have videos of myself playing, been in many teams, played for a long time and used to play 1.6 and CZ a lot too. Great fun to play when on voicecoms and matches competitively.
 
Dabble in it now and again :D. I find the majority of people left playing it are ridiculously good, could just be me being a lot worse though, I guess!

great game, there would be a lot more still playing this if they didn't spam every game with the online shop thing and lower to drop rate to a point where its near impossible to find good stuff

as for CS, i dont play anymore but can see why its still popular ITS A CLASSIC!

UT99 still has a large player count

Mexico has one of the biggest electronic booms in the world, most of their offices have better computers then UK ones! let alone the average home...

I've been there several times. It's most definitely a third world country. I've been in an internet cafe in oaxaca and was surrounded by... kids playing games on crappy old internet cafe computers.

lol I played against some 4K players when they did that Xfire invite thing. Hardly special and the notorious "not even trying" comments were rolled out. :)

Yeah i bet they were terrible. The main team left about 6 months after the clan was made. They were replaced by people not as good. They were good in lans, but online they were shocking.
 
Dust2 is where it's at.

I used to get banned from servers for basically being too good (i.e. dumbass admins thinking I was cheating) :rolleyes:

Haven't played in agggeeess though.
