Am I just being reeeaaaallly slow this morning or does this advertising slogan just not really make any sense? I'm not really getting how this is supposed to be a positive reflection on Volvos

It always struck me as a very stupid slogan. "Our cars are reliable and safe, but uninspiring, boring and bland. They are designed especially for people with no interest in cars or driving".

"There's more to life than transporting antique furniture and Labradors around, that's why you didn't buy a Volvo"

I noticed this too. It seems like the sort of slogan a very self-concious company would adopt.

I think "So, you're shackled to a life of drudgery, totally dead on the inside and all you want is to die rather than spend another day with your fat wife and annoying kids, buy a volvo" would have been better.

Volvo's slogans have pretty much been about 'living life' and not the actual driving for a long time, i.e. 'Volvo. For Life' etc.

Because the Audi is... better? The S60 is great from a VFM perspective but it isn't as good a car.
