thermalright HR03 Plus 8800GTX cooler Q

cheers used the artic silver 5. figure why not better conductivity + a few heatsinks fells off ! used the artic 5 since its sorta sticky to bind it, did a good shake test and none fell off ;)

oh boy went to slide the heatsink on and half the ram chips fell off again :(

Your lucky yours were stuck on !

They havent done a good job with the heatsinks, shame they couldnt have supplied epoxy or better sticking ones.

Does anyone know if that silver paste behind the heatsinks will harden up and stick to the ram chips ?

Only issue is got a whole pc to build and thats now halted due to lack of thermal epoxy =/

Does anyone else know if theres bonded over time? or did everyone end up having to go out and buy thermal epoxy ?

I agree with all you guys... the RAM Heatsinks were not great... one or two fell off on the first day but since then they have been ok.

Will be going to a LAN next week and a little worried that these will not stay during the car ride... so might be an idea to get a bit of thermal epoxy to keep them in place.

I thought thermalright would have made these a little better as its not a cheap product.

Just my opinion!

has anyone with this heatsink been able to overclock much more than with the stock cooler? I got mine yesterday, and so far cannot get my ram to go above the stock 900 in ATI tool without artifacting, have I just been unlucky with my 8800GTX? Most people I'm seeing are overclocking the ram to about 1000-1100! My core goes up to about 655 though...

My core does around 658 no problems, it won't go further with my HR-03 though. The memory is the only one I can keep edging up without artifacting. Have you tried using Rivatuner to overclock?

Well went into nothaplins today and they dont stock thermal sticky sheets or thermal epoxy anymore :(

Proberly doesnt help Ocuk doesnt have any in stock either !

Yeah totaly agreed for a product thats 35 quid they could have spent 5 minutes testing the product, product should really be recalled or a free epoxy/sticky pads kit should be on offer for customers having trouble.
