Hi, im OCing my MSI 6970 lightning to 1GHz and I was wondering if, and by how much, I would benefit from fitting a Thermalright Shaman Graphics Card Cooler over the stock cooler.

Will make a big difference over reference cooler in temperatures and noise.

I have one fitted to my reference 6950 and it's 20 degrees cooler at full load even when the TY-140 fan is going along at a sedate 30 odd percent fanspeed - 800rpm. If I whack it up to 1300 rpm the temps drop a good amount again but the noise is noticeable above my quiet system.

Are you getting temperature issues then? People dont usually replace custom coolers with other custom coolers all that much. It was my understanding that the Twin Frozr cooler was among the best stock card solution.

I'd expect the TF3 to be similar to the Gelid graphics cooler so yes I'd imagine the awesome Shaman would be cooler. Worth the upgrade for 1fps? Hmm maybe not so much.

You can fit any 120mm fan to Shaman so could even fit a 5000rpm screamer to it.
