Been reading some glowing reports/reviews on theese fans, im wondering if they would fit ok on an Alpenfohn k2 cooler, product description states that they use 120mm mounting holes.

Shouldn't be a problem unless you have anything in the top PCI x1 slot. Even then, it may not be an issue.
It's only the the extra width of these compared to the 140mm Alpenfohn fan that makes the difference. Mounting holes are the same

The k2 fans are a touch on the loud side, and ive read that the Thermalrights are a lot quieter. My reason for opting for the k2 was that it was much cheaper, and better looking than the SA. Currently have an Asus xonar DX installed in the top pcie slot, but it can be dropped to a lower slot if need be. I intend to oc the cpu a bit higher as well at some point.

Yeah I am. I actually have an SA SBE I wanted to test on my X58 rig then install into my X79 one but I haven't had time.

Yeah amazing coolers! I installed one in my brother's rig and it's been solid for a few years now. What X79 board have you got?
The normal SA is so wide that it's nearly touching the top GPU in my R IV E.
I believe the SA SBE is even wider?

RIVE as well. I don't use the top PCIE slot though. The SA SBE would coincide with the top slot unfortunately.

Yup.
TY-140/141/143/145/147 are all same; 120mm fan mounts (105mm spacing)
Ty-150 is 105mm (120mm mounting holes) X 125mm (140mm mounting holes)
TY-140/143/147
TY-147 is 700-1300rpm & same fan blade as TY-140
TY-143 is 700-2500rpm & same fan blade as TY-140
TY-141/145 are same measurements but different fan blades than old TY-140
Not sure of which has what bearings.
